Hey guys I know I haven't blog in awhile nowadays..it's because I went on a holiday &before that I was busy with this gadget that I just got--the iPad2!hehe

I never taught of owning it until one day when the boyf showed me the iBooks app.When I saw the awesome books,being the bookworm that I am,I just had to get it!Now that I have one,I'm beyond hooked!

I have so many books in my library..more than a hundred & I've even categorize all of them.hehe.My fave apps are the various cooking ones like Cooks Encyclopedia,Jamie OIiver's&many more.I especially love Paprika because I get to save any recipes from the web & refer to them anytime anywhere.

Holy guacamole!

Tortilla chips with guacamole made by me & the boyf!

No wonder the term 'Holy guacamole' existed.The taste of guacamole is yummy and is verrryyyy addictive once you're dipping them with tortilla chips.I've been meaning to make them recently and last night I managed to do so with my dearest boyfriend.

Funny story is that at first we bought unripe avocadoes because silly me didn't read the label on the box & also cos he said that isn't avocado suppose to be green?haha.Take note people that when the avocado ripens,the outside will be brown not green!

So I used this truly simple recipe from one of my favorite food website out there--SeriousEats.Currently they even have an article on how you can amp up your guacamole recipe by changing or adding a few ingredients--read them HERE.

Meanwhile,below is the basic guacamole recipe taken from HERE.You can substitute Serrano chili for birds eye(cili padi) which I've googled but try to use 1/2 of cili padi because Serrano chili is far milder than our local cili!

RECIPE:

1 small yellow onion, roughly chopped
1 serrano chili, roughly chopped
1/2 cup picked cilantro leaves, finely chopped, divided
2 teaspoons kosher salt
4 ripe avocados
2 tablespoons juice from 2 limes

Place onion, chili, half of cilantro leaves, and salt in a mortar and pestle. Pound into a fine paste. Alternatively, combine onion, chili, half of cilantro, salt, and half of lime juice in a food processor or blender and process until smooth paste is formed, scraping down sides as necessary.
Split each avocado in half, discard pits, and spoon out flesh into a medium bowl. Roughly mash with a stiff whisk. Add onion/chili puree, remaining cilantro leaves, and half of lime juice (if using mortar and pestle method). Fold to combine. Season to taste with more salt and lime juice. Serve immediately with warm tortilla chips.

You guys should definitely give this recipe a try because the result is very good!You won't be able to stop eating it!:)

And I should really try to find a way to replicate the red capsicum sauce at La Bodega that was serve with their onion & machengo cheese croquette..it is soooo addictive & delicious & I've eaten it 2 times now.I had lunch at Empire's La Bodega yesterday with the boyfriend.

Man I haven't blog in quite sometime!!Sorry dear blog readers but I've been really busy lately!The good news is that I got my car back last Saturday!!Alhamdulillah..Now it's easier for me to go to places & don't have to rely so much on my dad or boyfriend for transport.Phewww..

What have I been up too?Well..on the cooking/baking front..I made more choc chip cookies for my workmates who ordered them.Also when boyf's lil sister went to Cameron,she bought back a bunch of strawberries & I turned them into strawberry sauce because I was craving for a strawberry sundae.Yummm!

On the family front..my youngest brother was admitted to KPJ due to him having a growth behind his ear.He's fine now though but poor him because he had to undergo his first surgery..granted I've never had to experience that either other than 2 minor surgery in my mouth.

He ended his project last Friday & he picked me up for tea after it ended.We had a bite at Coffee Bean & I loveee their new Wild Cherry ice blended..soo yumm!It's sayang's fave place for his fave salad,the Caesar salad.Yes,I have a boyfriend who loves eating salad more than I do..haha.

On Saturday when I got my car & was driving it for the first time,a bloody stupid saga car who didn't give any signal took over my car from the front to go to the other side of the roundabout when in fact I had already given my signal loonggg before.BLOODY HELL!

I was a bit shaken because I so didn't want to be involve with an accident again!So luckily I manage to hit the brakes & gave him a longgg and loud honking.hah!Girls and guys always beware because although you're a good driver,others might not be so you have to be aware of them at all times.The boyf was very considerate that in the lull of what happened,he bought me lele penyet with 2 soda gembira for dinner(banyaknyer!) & creme brulee cheesecake to compensate..hehe.

The next night I told him that I wanted to try this Japanese restaurant right in our hometown--Shah Alam.Because I've seen the place for years but never wanted to try it out.The name of the place is Sakura Fuji restaurant & I've to say that the food there is good& their service is very nice.

I have always,always been browsing on Amazon for yearsssss but never come close in purchasing anything from it.I ALMOST did once but when I wanted to checkout,I saw that the shipping cost actually cost more than my total bill!

And plus some items like jewelry or cosmetics can't be shipped here.So luckily,boyfriend's bestfriend who was in US for a holiday gave his brother's NY address & I manage to get everything shipped there!Yeayyy And he brought back everything here!!:)

I bought a box of sparkly set of 5 earrings,an aquamarine earrings(so pretty!!),a book by one of my fave dessert chef,David Lebovitz and a pair of snazzy socks for the boyf(he loves them& are always on the lookout for colorful socks!hehe)

Old(new to me) movies that I've watched recently:

Monster Inc.

I love Boo!!so cuteee

I know I know,I should have watched this movie a zillion years ago..hahaha.My brothers watched it but I never had any interest in it UNTIL one day during one of our random conversations,boyfriend found out I never watched it.So he insisted that I watched it with him.His brothers and mum was shocked when he told them(while I was there) that I never watched it..hahaha.

So watched it I did..And it was so cute and funny.I love it!Learned a few things from the boyfriend as well--that the movie was the first time that Pixar uses the technology for the 'fur' on Sulley and that they actually used a real little kid for Boo' voice!Can't wait for the sequel!:)

I loveee Audrey Hepburn.I have a few of her movies--Breakfast at tiffany's, My fair lady,Roman Holiday and Paris when it sizzles.And this movie is good as well.It made me wanted to look as thin as her(I wish!)..haha.She's just so stunning!This movie is about a girl who works as a book shopkeeper and when a magazine was doing a shoot there,the photographer 'discovered' her!

New tv series that I loveeeeeee...

Jane by Design

Remember weeks back when I blogged about this show because I saw the advert in Instyle US Dec 2011 issue?It's finally out and now I'm on the 2nd episode.Can't wait for ep 3!!

I love love the fashion aspect of this show.It is 100% about fashion.The main character is Jane,a high school student who's also doubling as an assistant to a famous fashion designer!Pretty crazy when she has to juggle both at the same time.I find her bestfriend Max as being reallllyyyy cute!The jock who likes her isn't bad either..hehe I would definitely keep watching this and you guys should too!!

CHEATED BY CELCOM..BOOO!

So I've been a celcom line customer for close to one year now.My boyfriend and I took a plan at the start of our relationship--principal &supp line--so that it's easier and cheaper for us to communicate since we're the kind who talk/text each other everyday!

So at times I always subscribed Celcom's weekly broadband so that I can use the net whenever I'm bored at work since the proxy here is iron clad(we do have a lot of p&c info here so I guess having an internet connection could lead to leakage!).

But Celcom will always sms me a day before the plan ends to remind me or an hour before..WITHOUT FAIL.So one day,they didn't do EITHER and I got no message.So me,being busy with work,didn't realize that my plan has ended 2 days ago and I imagine my surprise when my hp was barred!

Turns out the ongoing internet on my hp for the past 2 days racked up until rm400 something.I knew this because previously I paid extra rm135 and I checked my balance it was rm280 something!It's not my fault that they neglected to send me a reminder!

But I went to the Celcom center at Sect 9 with the boyfriend who was equally miffed about it & this counter girl there wasn't helpful at all.Seriously if they have those 'rate me' touchscreen thingy like the ones in Balai Polis sect 9 shah alam,I'd choose not helpful at all!

She actually turned it on me saying that I should be aware when the plan ended..Yes that makes a lot of sense since some PEOPLE ARE BUSY WITH THEIR WORK/LIFE and how the heck can you remember something that you signed up for days ago??

You should empathize with your customer who have paid extra in her current bill and now the amount is gone & to top it off,she has to pay more!Her solution was,write a letter to request for reimbursement but she was going like..you might not get any refund in a tone that's saying like 'hah don't count on it!Dah la butt ugly pastuh nak kerek pulak.eewwwwww puhleaseee!(sorry for being a bit mean!)

I still won't budge and won't be paying for the incurred charge in the past 2 days.But I will draft a letter in the hopes that Celcom will fix this blunder.Funny the fact that for the year 2012,they didn't fix their sms-sending system for their customers!HURMPHH!

Hey everyone!How did you spend your new years??Me?The picture below describe it best..haha.Me & the boyfriend Skype until wee hours in the morning because he was completing his model(the one he's holding).

Below are 2 pictures of my wrecked car.Thankfully the verdict is out from the police's investigation and the person at fault has to pay for the damage from her insurance.So now I still have to wait for my car to be fixed.

From all that has happened,I am VERY THANKFUL for the people in my life who are willing to help me out in my time of need.It's hard for me to go places now because my parents house are far from any public transportation and having a car helps a lot to go to work and going out.

But thankfully,my dad has been sending me to work every morning so I have to wake up like 5.45 am EVERYDAY until my car is fixed because my dad's office is about 1 hour a few mins from home.So he has to drop me off before he goes to KLIA.I managed to change my work schedule with a lot of my friends so that I can work at 7am almost everyday to be able to have my dad send me to work.

My super duper awesome boyfriend picks me up after work(cos my dad goes back way later than me) so I'm very thankful for that as well.It's great to know that I can count on the men in my life.:)

Yummy choc chip cookies!

I baked 500 pieces of choc chip cookies for one of my senior's at work brother's wedding and it was the biggest one shot order I ever had.I've baked more cookies for Raya orders but that was huge single order.And the funny thing was I had to bake all of them while having to handle being mugged and also involving in a car accident a day before the order was due.Yes super me!:P

Yesterday I went to a wedding of one of my super senior in uni days,Azam & Baby(farhana).Both of them are TESLians & I am so happy for them both.Especially Azam because me & my bestie Izza who knows him,knows how it took him a long time to find someone like Baby.

The food at the wedding was SO GOOD!Nasi minyak,daging briyani & ayam masak merah(didn't get a pic cos I was so hungry!)was super sedappp..The wedding cake was good as well..nomnomnom..haha.I only managed to snap a pic of the SECOND slice of wedding cake--me,izza & our friends ate one slice & went for more!haha

It wouldn't be a blog entry without me posting about something on food!:P

2 of my fave dishes from my mum are her prawn + corn fritters & also ikan belah belakang(which my late Kedahan grandma who always make them for me calls it) or ikan jaket as most Malaysians knows it.Had both of them sometime this week!The fritters are a fave of our family for tea time.They're very crispy and delicious filled with prawns,corn,spring onions & onions!I always dip them with thai chilli sauce.

The ikan belah belakang or stuffed fish in english are fish(my grandma usually makes them using ikan cencaru but I prefer ikan kembung cos they're smaller & easier to eat!) stuffed with a mixture of onions in sambal or coconut.My family never uses coconut,only the onions.

Years ago,ever since I was a kid,my late maternal grandma who hails from Alor Setar would make them for me & I ate it with a gusto so she'll always make them for me.I am very thankful that my mother mastered the dish very well so I can eat them whenever I want!They taste so good with rice!

My 2 favorite new tv series(among the many others that I am watching) are Revenge and American Horror Story.

Revenge is about Emily Thorne or her real name Amanda Clarke who's bent on getting her revenge on the people who ruined her life by framing her late father and making the world believed that he was a criminal.The storyline is quite clever and I felt really sorry for Emily/Amanda because she has no one--no family member at all and her focus is only on getting revenge for her dad.

American Horror Story is so sick and disturbing!The boyfriend downloaded them & I watched it with him cos I was scared to watch it alone!haha.I only managed to watch until episode 5 but even then I was like..will things become more disturbing than it already is?It boggles my mind because the brain behind the series is the same people behind the bright and bubbly GLEE!

The character Tate is so disturbing because I was so smart to actually look the series up on the net so I kinda know what will happen soon.The boyfriend really pity Ben though at first I was like 'cheating bastard'!haha But then as the storyline grew,I do feel sorry for him.

That house is not a good place to live in!The series has many graphic scenes--masturbation,blood and gore and lots more so even if it is aired here,they'll probably cut out a LOT of the scenes.It's better that you download them!

Will try to blog more soon!:) Please pray that I'll get my car back soon as well!

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO MY DEAR READERS AND EVERYONE OUT THERE!May 2012 be a great year for us all..:)

Between getting mugged and also having my car hit by this super careless driver which in turn made me having no car for atleast 3 weeks or so..I managed to bake 500 pieces of chocolate chip cookies for a friend's brother's wedding!Phewwww..

What a crazy week it has been.BUT,like always I managed to survive and persevered.It's amazing how much strength I have..thanks to my parents who raised me the way I am.Below are my posts on what I did these past few weeks..a little treat for you guys to read on the first day of 2012!:)

1.Bedroom makeover

My clothes!There's still 2 suitcases of clothes that I don't wear though

Last month my mum told me that I need to buy a new wardrobe for my room because my old one which I had since I was 16 yrs old is falling apart(I'm 24 now..haha).

So around 3 weeks ago,I bought a new one(using my own money duh) which consisted of two wardrobe space&also a shoe closet which I can also put my tv on top of it.

ALMOST all of my shoes..there's about 6-7 pairs which I usually put in my car

They took out all of the books in my room & arrange them in a new shelf in the store downstairs..

The boyfriend also helped me choose paint to repaint my vanity with(a handmedown from my parent's wedding years back).My brothers and his friends repainted the vanity.My mum & my brothers helped clean my room when I went to work--thank you so much!

2. Second spa session with the boyfriend

painful his foot massage was!:P Me too!

My boyfriend is not some metrosexual who goes to the spa every month but he likes getting massages whenever he can and since I'm bad at doing that,(hahahaha) I thought let's go to the spa together.This is our 2nd time going to the spa together and his 1st time was so hilarious because he was so nervous!:P

He didn't like the massage this time around because he said it hurt and wasn't relaxing like the other time when we went to the Royal Malaysian Spa(we used our Milkadeal coupon).This time we went to 1 Six Beauty at Hartamas and I thought the massage was fine but it probably hurt because we've been busy & lots of the stress affected our 'urat2'..haha.

It was my first time experiencing a foot massage/spa after our full body massage.It was PAINFUL!!I was wincing a few times & the boyfriend did as well & he clearly didn't like it!:P

Afterwards,to beat the traffic,we went back to Shah Alam & had dinner at my fave place for butter prawns--HOMST..:)

3.Recolor my hair with highlights!

I look like a roast chicken..haha

Thanks to Groupon,I managed to get a super sweet deal to recolor my hair at Inspiration Alan.I love it there & would go there again when I have the $$.The staff are super nice and they look so cool!I managed to buy one of the hair serum that I covet so much which is Kerastase Elixir Ultime--it contains 4 diff oils:argan,camellia,maize & pracaxi.

BUT now it's gone since I got mugged recently..:( It's super expensive at rm138 per bottle..T_T and plus the peeps said to me at that time that they are always out of stock of it..so sad.

Anyhoo,enough of my sad story!Izza was there to accompany me & then we had dinner at La Bodega & I bought desserts at Delicious--pavlova for me & her sisters & a cheesecake for the boyfriend.

4.Finally,lunch at Wang Solo but me & the boyf was dissapointed!:(

So,I've heard from like 3 of my friends that the food at Wang Solo is good.Because of that I've been meaning to eat there but never had the time so one day me & the boyf finally went there for lunch.But boy were we dissapointed!The food just wasn't that good.It was passable but the sambal was too sweet.

The rice wasn't fluffy or wangi like the boyf said.And there was lettuce instead of fresh cabbage leaves!The boyf was so furious and didn't want to come back..I guess it's because we've eaten at 3 different penyet restaurant like Ria,Api and Waroeng that we know what's good and what's not.No.1 is Waroeng.No.2 is Ria.

A close third would be that stall in Padang Jawa which the boyf bought that same day,only at night.He bought it for his family but save the sambal for me so that I can taste it.His MMS pic is above..:) The taste was mild..Ria was so much hotter than theirs.I know this because I actually packed both sambal for lunch at the office the next day.The picture is below:

5.Meeting his grandma!

A day after Christmas,I went with his family to meet up with his grandma because they were visiting her and his mum said,don't I want to join them?So since I had nothing planned,I went with them.I was a bit nervous though but it was all okay and I was a bit sad actually that day because it reminded me the fact that I have no grandparents left.

I really miss my late grandma who passed away recently because she had a BIG influence on why I love to cook.I know how to cook lots of Malay dishes like Mee Rebus,Masak lemak kuning,Kuih Cara,kuah kacang,bingka roti and many many more because of her.:)

Funny thing is the story of marriage came up.*gulp* But hey,only time will tell right?He's been a great great boyfriend and also a great son & brother to his family.I've no doubt in my mind that he'll make a good husband and father as well.*blush*

What a way to end 2011

In less than 24 hours between last night and noon today, I managed to (a) got mugged & (b) got my car hit by an accident no thanks to a careless driver!Feel so damn malas(lazy) to elaborate on both matters because everything has happened and nothing bad happened to me during both mishaps.

My mum & my lil brother who was in the car with me are okay as well.What matters like what the boyfriend said,is that I'm okay and not hurt/injured in any kind of way.

I was so glad that my boyfriend was there for me on both occasions.He proves it further how awesome he is to me not that he's not awesome before,but now he's even super duper more awesome!haha.He dropped everything,his deadline &all,to be there for me.I.Love.You.

Today my dad actually came back from his office in KLIA which is like an hour or so away & came to the police station along with my brothers & boyfriend.So much support so how could I not be the strong person that I am?

So I'll try to persevere by being car-less for the time being though actually I've no idea how I'm going to go to work..T_T..

But above all that,I am thankful for a great support system--my family and the boyfriend.They make me feel safe and that nothing can harm me even after all that has happened.Let's hope for the best in 2012!:)

Tackling the Cherry Brown Butter Bar recipe

I love cherries and I always correct people who says that it taste medicinal.Because in actual fact,cherries were used in medicine such as cough syrups because they have sleep inducing properties and that's why when people taste them,they associated it with it.

If you don't believe me,try eating a big bowl of fresh cherries(not the maraschino kind) or even a few handful of them & wait for a few minutes for the zzzz effect to kick in.

So a few months ago,I came about this recipe but I never tried it because...

1)Fresh cherries are expensive here in Malaysia.
2)I don't have a cherry pitter.

3)I tend to eat cherries rather than bake them.hahaha.
4)Some cherries aren't sweet & lean towards the sour side instead.

But yesterday I bought 2 cartons of cherries& pitted them last night--using a satay bamboo stick which was A DISASTER & it looked like a murder scene because the cherry juice is redddd.

But this morning,I finally did it!!And the result--IT TASTED AWESOME!The recipe is really simple and the only hard part was pitting out all of those cherries!There's 3 steps.

1.Make the crust & bake it & then cool it.
2.Arrange the cherries on the crust.
3.Make the brown butter filling & pour it over the cherries & bake.

Super awesome because usually whenever I bake or cook something,most of the time I don't really eat it.But this time I really enjoyed eating it.So this will be my fave recipe next to the creme brulee & blueberry boy bait cake.

Rundown of the new season of Gossip Girl & 90210.

Although I have a tv in my room,I don't really use it.All the latest tv shows that I watch are downloaded from torrent thanks to the boyfriend's superfast unifi connection.

And I watch A LOT of different tv shows.From tv shows that my boyfriend doesn't think is good for me like Real Housewives or Gossip Girl or 90210.But then sometimes people watch tv shows that are so far from their real life as a form of escapism. :P

1.Gossip Girl

This season has been pretty crazy and we can see lots of the character evolving into something more than the rich brats that they are.Blair's pregnant with Prince Louise child.Chuck becoming a much better person than we've seen him ever been.Dan becoming a famous author.Serena breaking into the movie industry,although in the production background.Nate also owning his own online tabloid.

Of course there has been shocking revelation.CC who is indeed very sick(although we saw glimpses of this in past seasons).Charlie/Ivy's ex Max who is pretty much a scumbag than the sweet chef that we saw earlier on.Chuck's mother is Diana Payne who is also Nate's girlfriend(ewww) but of course it wasn't reveal to anyone,not even Nate that she's Chuck's mother.

This season instead of Serena,Blair is the center of every guy's attention as Prince Louise,Chuck and Dan are all in love with her.But of course we know who she really loves and in the last episode of the first half of the fifth season(wow that's a mouthful!),she finally end up choosing him but not without a tragedy,as it always is because what fun would it be if everybody lived happily ever after?

The question is,what will happen when the season continues in a few more months?It seems like Diana will reveal herself.Will Blair ever get her happy ending?

2.90210

I have to say that this season was a bit blah that at some point I think the writers of the show have no other ideas on how to make it better that they have to come up with outrageous things.

Annie becoming an escort which leads to a bit of prostitution.Dixon got addicted to ADHD medicine.Navid is 'helping' his uncle with his illegal activities.Raj & Ivy are on the rocks.Liam becomes a famous male model.

The point being,the end of the season was explosive and unexpected and frustrating.Naomi got betrayed..I was so angry at stupid Austin!She should have stayed with Max!What will happen to Liam?And will Silver ever know the truth about Navid??Questionssss which will only be answered in the next few months!

I will blog more about other tv series soon--pictures below.But some other times cos' typing is tiring!hahaha :P

It's hard to find a maxi dress that will fit me well because of my height and body shape.Most of the time,the maxi dress will end up becoming a midi on me because of my height.Some are made out of unflattering material which makes you not only look but also feel uncomfortable.

In a few more days,2011 will end.I have been through a lotthis year.The high highs and the low lows.I’ll be blogging more about ‘serious’or I guess semi-serious stuff in my life as the weeks go by because this bloghas had too much pictures and less words lately.

I mean the sole reason why Ieven started blogging was to practice writing in the English language.haha.

Okay back to what happened this year:

One of the biggest changes that happened to me in 2011 wasthe appearance of a guy named Razin(though actually I knew him in 2010).Lastyear,because of someone from the past,I thought that I’d never be okay again.Iwas a freakin mess after it ended.

Then one day,monthsafter that chapter ended,out of nowhere,he came into my life and he listenedto me.He was there to give me much needed advice and was there for me.He wasjust really there and he cared a lot although he didn't have to do any of that.

Although before him,I have to say there were other guys whotried to mend me,none of them were able to do so because their intention wasn’tto become my friend but to want something more when they should have known thatwasn’t what I needed at the time or they wasn’t sincere.

Razin was different.He became a great friend to me andgradually we developed feelings for each other.He was with me every step of theway.Every single day,from December 2010,until now.he’s there for me.

After years of meeting the wrong guy at the wrong place andtime, I finally met someone who was crazy about me as I was about him.I’m justreally really thankful that somehow he manage to see me through all theinsecurities,through all the craziness that is me.

So I was very into the relationship because for once in mylife,I was with someone who wanted this as much as I did and we’re socompatible, it is unreal. But because of that, a few people in my life were abit,well,sicken by it because I was always with him.In my defense,I was someone who's always gonna love with all of my heart.It's all or nothing for me.

At first of course I was a bit pissed because why couldn’tthey be happy for me since this has never happen to me. But then one of themtold me a few months back that she understood what I was going through nowbecause only now she’s experiencing it as well.

It made me realizethat you cannot be mad at people who does not understand what you are goingthrough when they have never know what it feels like and sometimes it’s noteven your fault,it’s just that you don’t know what they’re going through withtheir own life as well.

Razin is the guy who bring me to see his family like 3 weeksafter we became a couple.He met my family on his own and actually talk with mydad and manage to hold a conversation with him and have met them a few moretimes after that.Heck,my dad actually HELPED him,with his car.Rare cos my daddoesn’t like any guy that I date.haha.

He’s the one who surprised me on my birthday.He’s the onewho was there for me when things were tough between my parents(long story).Henever ever fail in making sure that I know how much he loves me,every singleday that we’ve been together.When my grandma passed away,he was there to holdme while I cry.He was there to help my family members during that fateful nightas well.

He’s the one who manage to see through all my craziness andsee me for what I really am.

I may not be perfect looking or perfect in general.I may beemotional and over sensitive at times and I think or worry too much.But onething I know is that as long as I live and as long as we’re together,I know fora fact that I will love him with all that I can and have.

2 days in KL

Being someone who was born and bred in Shah Alam,where there's literally no traffic EVER except for certain unusual days,it is pretty taxing to drive to KL where there's never no traffic.Even my parents avoid going to KL at all cost if they can.

But because my bestie lives there so sometimes I do have to go to KL to visit her.haha.So a last week,a day after Izza's birthday dinner,I went to KL because I had to attend a thing for work super early the next day there.Manage to walk around BB at night with Izza for a bit.

Su's Bakes for Kicks Meringue..so good!

Izza picked me up & we went to Fahrenheit where she introduce me to this awesome bakery called Su's Bakes for Kicks& the meringue there is so yummms!I think they put pink candy floss in the middle.I bought one of their super pretty durian cheesecake to try.Seriously I spend a lot on food than anything else..okay..maybe clothes as well..:P

We also went to Sephora & I bought a few things..Haven't been there in AGES!The last time was in MAY when the boyfriend went along with me!Me & Izza went crazy there because of the Christmas sale so there were lots of pretty things to choose from that I had a hard time deciding what to buy.I'm so glad that they finally brought the brand Fresh here!:))

On the 6th of December was Izza's 24th birthday.So since it was a weekday,we meet up for dinner.But actually I wasn't working on that day and came to Bangsar an hour or so earlier than the others because I want to beat the traffic.

Managed to find a lil gift for Izza & also a pretty top for myself from Cats Whiskers!:p Izza came first to Bangsar.So we walked a bit & then Aimi came & last was Fa.I haven't seen her in months because she's been busy with her job!

We went to Peacocks first because the girls wanted to walk around.Me & Aimi bought a pair of shoes because they were on sale!weehooo.Haven't bought heels in a while.I've been buying lots of flats because I prefer to wear them to work as it is more comfortable.But they were too pretty to pass up!:P

Afterwards we had dinner at Ben's General Store.Man the roast chicken there was good.It was deceiving because it wasn't dark brown the way I usually like my roast chicken.It was just plain brown but the skin was so crispy!

Bake bake bake

I love baking and cooking.But lately I've been leaning more towards baking since there's so many recipes that I want to try.So last week in 2 days I made pavlova & also creme brulee with the boyfriend's lil sister,Raqeema.

Creme Brulee

Previously which was a few months back I did manage to make creme brulee but the brulee part didn't turned out so well since I didn't have a blow torch.

So around a few weeks back,back after Empire Shopping Gallery was up and running again,me & the boyf went to Jaya Grocer to buy a set of blowtorch which came with 4 ramekins.Btw,a colleague of mine at work told me about the deal.

It was really inexpensive compared to other brands out there.It was less than rm60!CRAZY!So I had to buy it because I've been searching for a blowtorch for so long.

Although the recipe worked,but because I used the wrong brand of cream(since the supermarket ran out),the inside of the dessert was almost like creme caramel instead--a bit on the hard side of things and not as silky smooth like how a creme brulee should be.

So yesterday,I tried again & made it using the brand of cream that I usually use(below) & it work!!

Pavlova

Meringue in the oven!

I've been hearing about pavlova here and there but I never really cared for it so I never attempted to bake it though I have baked a chocolate meringue pie HERE a few years back(meringue is the base of pavlova).

Since Raqeema had lots of egg whites from making ice cream(she has her own ice cream machine which her dad bought for her..how cool is that??) and she asked me what to do with it and I suggested we make pavlova!

You can use the recipe HERE from Bisous A Toi.I have had questions by a friend who loves to bake as well on why her pavlova has a chewy innards instead of crunchy like the ones being sold in restaurants in Klang Valley?

Well when I watched Junior Masterchef and from what I read on the net & on Bisous A Toi blog on pavlova is that actually it is suppose to have a marshmallowy center but with a hard shell.

BUT since we're Malaysians & we're accustomed to the hard meringue instead of the chewy ones,we might be puzzled by why this turned out.So if you want it to be hard,omit the vinegar & cornstarch from the recipe & leave it longer in the oven,overnight after you have baked them.But any other way,if the recipe and ingredients are correct,it would turn out GOOODD!:)

we ate it before even remembering to take a picture!haha.

Yeah2 I haven't blog in about a few days but I assure you that I'm back with quite a few updates..:) First up,a post on a few movies that I've watched with the boyfriend!:)

1.Breaking Dawn Part 1

I went to watch this movie with the boyfriend the first day it came out.I've told him when the trailer came out & we were watching it,that I want to see the movie.

Because although I wasn't a big fan of the Twilight book series,I did read it back in Uni days because I wanted to know what it was all about & I like the last book the most(Breaking Dawn) because Edward & Bella got married & went on this super romantic honeymoon.

Sooo..we went to watch the movie at MBO Subang Parade& my verdict??It was okay.Passable because the boyfriend didn't slept throughout the movie.He had some questions as well since he has never read the books.

The wedding scene was of course very beautiful.I loveee Bella's dress.In front it looked very simple but at the back it was just breathtaking!:) The honeymoon scene was okay as well BUT yeah due to our censorship board,lots of it was chopped off..HURMPPHHH.

So for the readers out there who knows what I'm talking about because you guys read that part,I suggest wait for the torrent to come out & then download it..haha.

Ooh,they really managed to make Bella look super duper sick/emaciated due to her pregnancy that even boyfriend's brother who went to watch the movie with his girlfriend told us that she looked really awful during that scene.

At the end of the day,let's face it,this movie isn't really about vampires or werewolves.It's a love story and lots of girls out there love a love story so that's why although it isn't Oscar material,they managed to make lots of money from it.

2.Puss in Boots 3D

Initially I was torn between watching this movie or Happy Feet 2 because apparently the boyfriend said that the first movie was really good and his siblings said the second one is good as well.But since I didn't watch Happy Feet and I've watched all of Shrek's movie,I thought why not watch this one since the review it had gotten in The Star was good.

We went to watch this movie at the new mall in Shah Alam,the huge aptly named Space U8.

The movie was enjoyable and had many funny parts. Although the plot of the movie was a little elaborate--regarding how Humpty planned everything out to fool Puss..I actually love the flashback scenes because Puss looked soooo cute when he was a tiny kitten!:)

The movie version of Jack and Jill is so far from what I imagined as a kid.hahah.And the chick that laid the golden eggs is sooo cute!arghhhh.Basically this movie is filled with cute things..:P

3.The Fall

This movie is pretty old seeing that it came out in 2006.The boyfriend like to introduce me to movies that I've never watch or never thought to watch.So whenever we spend time together,he'll make me watch a few of them.So this was one of the recent ones.I have NEVER heard about the movie and I wish I had!

When the movie starts,I thought it was a European movie because of the accent of the little girl and the setting of it was almost like a horror movie(a dark hospital).But it wasn't.It was an indie film by Americans.The setting of the movie was during the 1920s in Los Angeles--hence the orange pickers that was mentioned by Alexandria(the little girl) in the movie.

The many scenes in the movie is BREATHTAKINGLY BEAUTIFUL!Click HERE to see how many locations the movie was shot at.I have no idea why the movie wasn't well known..is it because it was an independent film?Apparently the boyfriend said that the director is rich so although it was an indie movie,it looked very opulent.

I didn't recognize any of the actors in the movie except for Lee Pace,the lead which also starred in one of my old fave tv series--Pushing Daisies.

The movie is about Roy,a stunt man who injured because of a fall,told an elaborate story to a fellow patient,a little girl with a broken arm,with an ulterior motive.The movie is a bit dragging but I love the end of it because Alexandria is such a precocious little kid.

I love the end part when she said something about oranges and teeth when she put the old man's fake teeth into the orange rind & planted them.hahahaha.You have to watch this movie and be amazed by the beautiful scenes.:)

It took me longer to write this..but here it goes:

On 11/11,a date that everyone was talking about..my grandma was admitted to the emergency ward due to stroke around 2pm.I rushed out of the office,picked up my mum & brothers(as dad was a work),went to HUKM.

My grandma has been bedridden for 2 years.She can talk,eat and everything but she can't walk,she uses a wheelchair.After 11/11,she stayed at the hospital because the doctor wanted to monitor her although we heard that she might not make it or if she did survive the ordeal,she would have a hard time living because food can only be transmitted via a tube.

On 20/11,around 9.30pm,after I had just finish with Wardrobe Clearance with boyfriend's sister & my friends,my mum called saying that my grandma passed away.I was numb.I never thought it'd be so sudden.Boyfriend was there next to me and up till this day I'll remember how he was there comforting me while I cry.

Quickly we went to grandma's house and all my other relatives had prepare the house and Razin's helped as well.It was so nice of him.:)

My mum & her siblings had expected that this will come..grandma's passing.Grandma looked very clean and peaceful after they had bathe her that Monday morning at the surau in section 11.

We did a 3-day tahlil for her.1st day it was catered.2nd day we cooked and the 3rd it was potluck..every relative brought a dish.Razin came on the 1st and last tahlil.His brother came as well during the 1st.Izza came during the last tahlil.Thank you,you guys.

I know grandma's in a better place now.We will all miss you very much.Now I have no other grandparents left.Can't believe that this years raya was the last one we spend with her.I was glad that I managed to bake her a cake for her birthday.Al-fatihah.

If you've been reading my blog these past few years,you'd know that I love to eat!I mean I love cooking and baking,buying groceries and what not but let's face it,eating is so much easier.hahaha.So these past 2 weeks I managed to eat at 4 different places that I've never eaten at before.

This is sort of a mini achievement BECAUSE I always prefer to eat at places that I am familiar with and it's pretty routine.The boyfriend know this about me because we always end up eating at the same places.haha.What can I say?I like what I like.BUT,a little bit of change now and then is good as well.So let's round it up!

Carl's Junior

I have seen Carl's Junior many times before but never wanted to try it.But last Thursday night,before me & the boyfriend went to watch Breaking Dawn Part 1(which was okay-lah),we had our dinner there because it was the closest one next to Subang Parade's MBO.

I ordered the jumbo chilli dog with onion rings on the side.He ordered BBQ burger with fries.I have to say that although the onion rings were made using whole onions which is a plus for me(diced onion is such a sham!),BUT the batter that coated it was so hard!:(

The hotdog was okay though but I prefer Razin's burger which was goooddd..and the fries as well of course!haha.The fries had potato skins still on them..yummm.BTW,it was cool when me & Razin entered the cinema,we were holding our drinks from Carl's & the boys there didn't tell us to throw it away!yeayyy..haha.

Bubba Gump

One day the boyfriend and I was talking about how we should go and eat at Bubba Gump.So the next day,we did!I peruse the MENU online first and then he even printed it out (in color!haha) so we could take a good look at it before going.I love the menu!:P

So we went there with Razin's lil sister Raqeema as well.I love the food.Everything was good and it was worth the price.

Love love everything!From the drink..my mango sparkler was refreshing but it was too big so I ened up needing the boyfriend's help to finish it.His Sweet Alabama Sweet Smoothie was yummy!A combo of peanut butter & chocolate but it wasn't really sweet and just nice.

The appetizer was onion rings and Bubba's far out dip.I loveee the onion rings as it was akin to A&W ones!:) The dipping sauces was so good too.Loveee the bbq one.The far out dip had lots of spinach,cheese & artichoke in it.Very creamy but we didn't finish it because it was very rich.

The shrimper's heaven was divine!Shrimp cooked 4 different ways.Tempura,deep fried,chili and coated with coconut.There were 4 dipping sauces as well:cocktail sauce,soy sauce,cajun marmalade and another one which I can't remember.haha.

We were so stuffed that we didn't order dessert!I would definitely come here again though maybe once every 2 months cos' it is not cheap!
Meatworks

I have passed Meatworks at Citta Mall back when I went there with the boyf during Raya to buy cupcakes from Wondermilk.A few days back,Razin's dad treated his family there for dinner and me & also Razin's brother's girlfriend went as well.I have to say there were a few hit and misses.

Urghhhh

I ordered the Waldorf salad because it looked so appetizing in the menu and because 2 hours prior I had already eaten rice because I didn't eat all day.So I wanted something light.But much to my dismay,the salad was VERY disappointing.Here's the MENU for Meatworks.And if you can see in the description of the salad,it stated Granny Smith apples(the green kind),along with celery as well.

But instead they added mushy red apple(I HATE MUSHY APPLES!) and also omit the celery & used watercress which so DID NOT go with the salad!And the apple was cut into HUGE chunks that it was tedious to eat.-__- I should have asked them to bring it back & cut it into smaller pieces but I didn't want to make a fuss since I didn't pay for dinner.But how can you freakin screw up a salad?*sigh*.

Creme Brulee!

I ordered cinnamon creme brulee as well.I didn't really like cinnamon but I would never pass up creme brulee.But I have to say it was super WEIRD when they had runny sauce on top of the brulee.It wasn't just mine,Razin's creme brulee had a watery top as well.This affected the layer of crunchy caramel(the brulee) on top of it.But the creme part was smooth and satisfying.

Razin's bbq beef ribs

I tasted Razin's bbq ribs and they were excellent!Really spot on.If I happen to eat here next time,I'll definitely order that instead.I took pic of everyone's dish since they know how I love taking pics of food..haha.But since it would be a very long post,I didn't upload them.

Aimar's Tomyam and Seafood TTDI

I might have passed Aimar's Tomyam everytime I fill up my gas at SHELL after work.But I never ate there at all.Until a day ago after me & Razin went to check out the new Space U8 which is HUGE & SPACIOUS!

We were very hungry after we went there that we decided to eat and one of the nearest places and Razin saw it when were at the traffic light and I thought why not give it a try?Initially I was a bit apprehensive because of the look of the place.

But as we sat down and looked at the menu on the table we were like..SO CHEAP???wahhhhh..So we ordered the Hatyai set which consisted of Siakap masak 3 rasa,Kankung goreng,ayam/daging--we choose ayam masak paprik,telur dadar & sup tulang(which we upgraded to Tomyam Seafood) and also 2 watermelon juice.

Clockwise:Siakap masak 3 rasa,ayam paprik,telur dadar & tomyam campur.

The food was good!It was so funny when Razin and me was like fighting over the fish.haha.We are such huge fish eaters!Total bill was only rm34.50.Crazy cheap right?

Short but memorable and fun trip

Lots of things has been happening to my life.Particularly family-wise.Thus I didn't manage to blog or had the mood to blog actually.But I will update this blog in these few days with lotssss of posts that I've put off.

I'll start with this one first:

I went to a very short day trip to Melaka few weeks back with my girls,Izza & Aimi.We have planned this for a very long time and since our lives are pretty crazy busy so we just HAD to take a day off and go off somewhere.

We decided to go somewhere nearby so we don't have to drive so far to reach the destination and chose Melaka.I haven't been there in AGES.The last time was in primary school I think.THAT BAD!Aimi drove because she knows the road there very well and she loves to drive!Haha.

Funnily back when I didn't have my license years back,I couldn't wait to drive but a few years after having it,I become so lazy to drive!:P

So we made our way to Melaka from Shah Alam around noon on a Saturday since Aimi finish her work at 10am& she had to fetch Izza as well.We arrived in Melaka around 3pm.BTW,the dress that I wore to Melaka was a pre-loved dress which I got for just rm15 at Old Blossom Box recent preloved party!The boyfriend said I look pretty in it!;)

Walkabout Jonker to find a place to eat!

Aimi suggested we eat at this place because apparently it's really good!

We arrived,had to find parking which was a bit tricky but after we did,it was actually not that hard & near to Jonker Street.We skipped the touristy places/landmarks cos' it's not like we haven't been there before plus there were so many people!I was so surprised to see how advanced Melaka has become.Their malls were really huge!hahaa.

We were so hungry that we ordered a lot at Jonker 88,a place which Aimi suggested.The assam laksa was super good!Sour and spicy with a hint of sweetness.Love the crispy cruller in it.Aimi ordered a plate of different yong tau foo and the dipping sauce was so good!

I ordered pai tee as well..which was huge and yummy.Durian cendol for dessert and I would have ordered it with extra durian because they used fresh ones..T_T I'll definitely go there again & bring the boyfriend on a day trip!:)

We shopped at the night market and I got a pair of pretty sparkly red flip flops(it's so hard to fine ones that are pretty and comfy at the same time..most are ugleehhh),dried flowers for tea and cheap earrings.Izza was hungry again after all the walking that she bought mostly food at the market.haha.

We arrived back in Shah Alam..had our dinner and lo and behold,KFC at the Extreme Park and parted ways.It was funny on the ride back home when we sang old malay songs back in our teen years like from KRU,Elite,Kool,and Indigo.hahaha.It was a short but memorable day trip.It's not about quantity,it's about quality time..:) Let's do this again girls when we're less busy with our lives!

My grandma passed away last Sunday night.And even a week before that she had a stroke and was admitted to HUKM.I have been busy with lots of things and haven't had the chance to blog.My late grandma,the only grandparent that I had left previously,is my mother's mother.

She was the one who was responsible in instilling this passion for cooking in me.Back when me & my cousins were kids,like barely in kindergarten,my grandma would include us in the kitchen whenever she had to cook for her guests.She'd give us things to do like peeling the potatoes or carrots,shaping the curry puffs or filling up the ketupat daun palas.Nenek,I know you're in a better place now.

So,you guys know about BMW Shorties right?NO?Well click HERE to find out more.The boyfriend aka Razin Yuzer,worked on the music for the short film(he has a cameo appearance as well..haha) which was directed by his bestfriend,Shahree Zane.

I won't reveal much about it but suffice to say that it very much adheres to this year's theme for the competition which is JOY!It will move you in a good way!

The lead in this film is Iedil Putra whom you might have seen at KLPAC performances(Urbanscapes/Projek Disko Baldi) or on tv.For the single ladies out there..he's very cute(of course in my eye Razin is much handsome than him..:P) so you girls better watch this when it is screened later!!

Hey everyone..my life has been pretty chaotic these past 2 weeks so I didn't get the chance to blog much..But I'll try to update it since I do have a few backlog posts that needs to be done.

Last,last Friday(2 days before raya haji) I went to Bangsar for a day of mini catching up session with the girls.I met up with Aimi first and we shopped a bit & then Izza came straight from work.I love hanging out in Bangsar because it's peaceful and there's so many cool boutiques there.

But I have to be honest that although I've been there a few times,the only boutique I've shopped at was Blueberry.And plus when I go there,it's usually to eat with my friends--Plan B,Delicious and Chawan.

This time around because Aimi wanted to shop,we went from one boutique from another.It was so much fun!I bought a few stuffs from Blueberry(couldn't resist!),Cat's Whiskers & Blurry--and I love all of them!hehe.

Man I’ve been busy, knackered and a whole lot of other things that I didn’t get much time to actually sit down and blog.But I took the time to do so,just for you guys out there who does take the time out of their day to read my blog.Thank you to whoever you are out there!:)

So last Sunday,30th November,I joined Jezmine Blossom’s of Old Blossom Box Store Pre-Loved Party by selling my baked goods.Previously she have asked me to join but I couldn’t because it clashed with my work.

But since I knew I won’t be working on the 30th,I said yes when she asked me to.I prepared the cookies a few days before the event because they keep very well.I made the brownies 2 days before and kept them in the fridge.

And yes,I baked and packed all of them on my own.But on the day itself,my bestie Izza helped me sell them and took inventory and a few minutes later the boyfriend came and helped and stayed till the end..:) It was a success!I sold out in less than 2 hours.haha.The people just loved my cheesecake brownies and I was a bit surprised because I actually prefer the cookies than brownies.

I gave out cards that was designed by the boyfriend.I had a really great experience and it made me realize that maybe I can do this as a side business.There were lots of kids who went back and back again to take my cheesecake brownie samples!They were just so cute!

Of course since it was a Pre-Loved Party after all,I got to buy some pretty clothes.I got 3 gorgeous dresses for just rm85!There’s this amazing red dress that I can’t wait to wear!

I've been seriously busy these past few days and it will continue in the upcoming days as well.Last Friday & Saturday was fully packed days for me as I had to run around to lots of places.On Friday it was the akad nikah of one of my good friend whom I haven't seen in almost a year!And all of my other friends was there as well.

Can you believe it?We haven't seen each other in a long time because everybody's been busy living their life in different parts of Malaysia,juggling their work and study like I am.I'm one of those people who doesn't communicate much with their friends either through online or phone and usually I prefer to hang out.

So it's hard for me to do so with some of my friends when they're living quite far from me but when we do meet up,it's like nothing has change.That's the beauty of true friendship.It's about quality,not quantity.

I miss all of them a lot!They've been there for me back in uni days when times were tough and also through many lighthearted moments.

Okay back to Hani's akad nikah..because I couldn't go to her wedding reception which was held on Saturday afternoon due to work and plus the boyfriend is graduating as well..so I made sure I made it to the akad nikah.

Although Friday was my off day from work,not a minute was not utilized fully by me & usually that is what happens whenever I get my off day from work as well.

In the morning I baked red velvet cupcakes for a friend and also for Hani and my other friends to taste it since I remembered Hani saying to me a few weeks back on FB that she & her sister have been meaning to try it so I just had to bake it for them.

They absolutely love it especially Hanna because she said that previously she tasted a really bad red velvet cake that made her dizzy!haha

It was raining cats and dogs on late Friday noon and I was rushing trying to buy a wedding gift,sending my car to be washed,vaccumed & polished and also searching for the right chocolate bouquet for Razin's graduation.

I went to 4 different florist in Shah Alam & decided at the end to go to the one that I had seen a few days back.ahaha.Unbeknowst to the boyfriend,I was secretly hatching a plan with his sister to surprise him on Saturday morning.hehe.

I was SUPPOSED to be working on Saturday morning but I managed to ask a junior to take over my work.Thank you!!!I'm glad I managed to get off from work because it was a day whereby I got to spend time with the boyfriend from the wee hours of morning into the night.

We haven't had the chance to do so in months!Yes,we do see each other almost everyday but usually it's for a few hours.And yes,we don't get sick of each other.Seriously,there's no such thing as loving someone too much!:))

Okay anyhoo more on that later but back to my friend Hani's akad nikah on Friday night..-- I went there with Izlin and Yaya..both whom I haven't met in over a year as well.And throughout the 1 hour plus car ride with Yaya driving my car,we talked and talked and updated each other about our lives.

Izlin is staying and working in Kelantan with her family--but she does come to Shah Alam a few times in a month for her Masters class--yes I have loadsss of ambitious & driven friends!:))...while Yaya has been busy with her studies & working as well.

We arrived there a bit late,around 9pm something because of the non stop rain & crazy traffic since we made our way from Shah Alam to Kepong..but when we were there,the ceremony took place around 20 mins later.Pheww!Even Hanna who drove all the way from Kedah managed to arrive just on time which was during the lafaz.:)

We had dinner & talked & talked because Hafriz,one of my good friend whom I haven't seen in ages & is also Izlin's long time boyfriend,was there!Went back home with Yaya & slept around 1.30 am like that and then.....had to wake up at 5.45am for another important day!!

The boyfriend had NO IDEA that I was not working on Saturday because initially I was supposed to.In actual fact,I had planned with his sister to help me surprise him in the morning because usually everytime I go to their house,he'll open the door.So this time I had to make sure that he doesn't know I'm going there.

So around 6.30 I sneaked in with the help of his sister,while he was in the shower.He ALMOST saw me coming because just as soon as I entered the house,he went to the bathroom.So when he came out,he went to his pc first.I tiptoed behind him & poked him.

He turned around,stunned & the first thing he said was "Sayang you tak tido ke??"(Didn't you get any sleep last night?"..He was all concern about me when hello I was there to surprise him!haha.He asked me that question because we always talked to each other before we go to bed or when we wake up groggily in the morning.So off I went with him to UiTM after going to McD for a quick drive thru breakfast.

During the ceremony I stayed outside with his sisters & youngest brother while his mum & brother went in.His father was outstation so he couldn't be there.I was SO FRUSTRATED when like 3 courses before his,the tv screen outside went BLANK!Like WTF!!I was there since early morning & now that it's his turn,I couldn't see him??

I was almost crying & when his name was called out,his eldest sister,Nana,looked at me & we was like..*SIGH*..T_T..Me & the boyf were communicating even when he was inside & I told him about the stupid technical problem

Afterwards we went for lunch at Papa Johns & then Tutti Frutti for dessert.Then took a quick rest before going to Hartamas in the evening for our spa experience at Royal Malaysian Spa using the voucher that we got from Milkadeal!

It was soooooo funny because it was his first time going to a spa & we did sauna treatment(the funniest!!!),foot soak(super hot water!),body scrub,body massage(his fave..no brainer!haha) & lifting facial.He didn't like the facial because they did extraction which was painful but I'm used to that from my treatments at Embun Seri.

We had dinner at Pasta Zanmai first before going to the spa & I tasted the best salad dressing ever from boyfriend's dish.They had sesame seeds in it & it tasted divine!!

Okay,so I've been slacking in updating this blog so I thought in order to compensate for that,I'd make a longggg entry & categorize it into parts.Things,Love,Friends and Work!:)

I love pretty things!My overflowing closet is a testimony to that and my shoe filled car shows that as well..haha.As some of you who's been following my blog would have known,I have been meaning to buy Benefit products since quite sometime but never did.

I'm glad I finally did it a few days ago..hehe.Their stuffs are so cute & pretty.I bought the Confessions of A Concealaholic,Powda Wowza and Hello Flawless.Initially I just wanted the Bella Bamba blusher but then it made sense to buy Powda Wowza since it contained 2 of their blusher--Bella Bamba & Coralista along with their Hoola bronzer at a much cheaper price!

The salesperson tried these products on my face & the result was awesome that I just had to buy them..:P The Hello Flawless compact powder has got to be THE best compact powder ever!And I've tried MANY brands--from Loreal,Maybelline,Revlon,Johnson and Rimmel(rimmel mineral comes close second..)

I bought this sparkly pair of flats because I remembered awhile back that I wanted them but then I decided not to buy them since I have bought 2 pair of shoes already at that store.So when I went last week & saw them there,the LAST pair,I just had to get them.Aren't they sparkly?

Currently I'm watching the second season of Junior Masterchef Australia.Seeing all those talented kids made me want to one day when I became a mother,to hope that I too will be able to raise children who are confident with who they are just like those kids are.I'm a pretty confident and independent person thanks to how my parents raise me as well but raising a kid sure is scary!

Nowadays that both of us are busy and our schedules clash,we try to make time for each other.Previously we see each other everyday and spend time a few hours..nowadays it's every other day and even when we do see each other everyday,it'll be for an hour or 2.

A few days before I helped sayang(okay more like watch..haha)set up his new pc!Previously he had a laptop but then he changed to pc because it will last longer & it has worn out.It's touchscreen!haha Coolness(with a hint of jealousy..:P)

We managed to spend some down time this week and watched the movie Thank you for smoking.Yes I know it's a pretty old movie but I didn't watch it previously and he wanted me to watch it so we did.Basically nowadays that he's pretty busy,we don't go out much but we spend time at his family's house,having dinner or lunch.

A few nights before we had a lots of pizza..his treat!Yeay!!haha We were a bit awestruck with Domino's online tracking system.When you order your pizza online,you can actually see the progress..so when it was on delivering mode,I was like telling him 'syg2 cepat nak sampai dah'..haha.

Ever since Izza came back from her NZ trip,I've been hanging out with her.Because previously she did feel a bit neglected because I'm almost 24/7 with the boyfriend.So now I try to make time for my friends as well!hehe.On Friday night I hung out with Izza & Aimi after work at Mukha.Izza asked me to go there since she's meeting someone there.haha..;) They have really nice coffee & a great ambiance.

I got lost as I was going there and had to call Aimi & also the boyfriend for directions.Thankfully I managed to find the place!pheww.BUT,I got lost on the way back from the place to my house & it was pretty scary because I somehow ended up near Restoran Jejantas Sungai Buloh & almost cried to the boyf on the phone.

Gladly he calmed me down & I managed to find my way but I had to rely on my own because half way through our conversation,my battery died!arghhhhhI was working on Saturday at freaking 9am.But after work I managed to meet up with the boyfriend for a bit..he misses me..awwww..:)

We then head on out to the Big Bad Wolf warehouse sale although at first we were a bit apprehensive about it since it was the last day of the sale and some people tweet/said that there wouldn't be any great books left.But then we were like,everybody read different things so how can you define an awesome book persay?Right?AND WE WERE RIGHT!Boooyah!!!

We arrived around 3-ish in the afternoon and we found parking easily and didn't have to queue up to enter the warehouse at all.There was so many books that I wanted!!Crazy!!We had to go back and forth to find more books.

At first all of us walkabout looking for books but then we lost each other a few times because there were many people there.So Izza was like,I'll sit down and look at what books I got and then you girls can keep looking.I think me & Aimi went a few times looking for books and we looked everywhere!I am very particular and have to look at all of the books just in case if I miss something great.

So happy I got Reading Lolita in Tehran for rm8!:)

I was estatic when I found 2 books that were on my lists-- MUST READ list-- Reading Lolita In Tehran for RM8 or HARD TO FIND list--Bless Me Ultima.I bought 14 books in total & I don't know how but I manage to fit it in my room..I have close to 200 books already in my collection.No joke!

By the time me and the girls came out of the warehouse,it was already night time!We actually spend FOUR HOURS inside the place!haha.But it was so worth the pretty long trip from Shah Alam to MAEPS..I'm very happy with what I got.

For those of you guys out there who have data plan instead of prepaid might have had experienced THIS.I CAN SO RELATE TO IT!One night,I forgot to renew my handphone broadband service plan & my data roaming was on until morning without me realizing about it.

And suddenly around 8am I received an sms saying that my bill reached 200+.I was like what??Previously it was like rm80!So I had to pay for it.*sigh*

.....for those of us who have a spending problem..but don't want to admit it.hahaha

I don't shop online that often.Starting last year,I tried to go with my guts and buy a few stuffs online because at first I was a bit skeptical since you never know how they might look like when you get them.

I've bought things from a few online shops/blogshops.Some of them were Honey Pumpkin,Mini Bites & Posh Pheasant(a US perfumer that sells hard to find fragrances!).Recently though,I've been hooked on ASOS ever since boyf's sis told me about it & then I browse the web & waited& contemplated whether should I order anything from the site?It is in Pounds after all so I was a bit apprehensive in spending my money until I found items that I truly wanted.

So one day the boyfriend's bagstrap broke and he wanted to replace it & his brother suggested ASOS.So I thought,why not shipped our stuffs together?So I bought 3 dresses(1 maxi dress because it's hard to find those that I love here & 2 work appropriate dresses!) along with Korres makeup wipes.Can't wait for the items to arrive.The other 2 things are of course boyf's stuffs..:)

I also ordered 2 items from the website Thepoplook after hearing good reviews from other bloggers.I have to say I was very impressed!The items arrived in 2 days.And when I tried both items on,they fit perfectly.I'm contemplating getting the maxi dress in other colors.hehe.

I ordered shoes from AGAPE 2 weeks ago but they've yet to arrive but since they're pre-order shoes,they do run a bit late.But looking at the super cool design,I can't wait to get my hands on them.Sadly,they don't have lots of shoes in my size.My feet size is 8 btw which is considered small in US since even Paris Hilton is a size 12!I ordered 2 shoes along with another 2 which the boyfriend's sister ordered with me as well.

I loveee Lauren Conrad & have all 3 of her L.A Candy books.But I've yet to buy her STYLE book although I've seen it in magazines.I thought they weren't available here but today when I went to MPH,I saw it!And it was only rm44.90!Yeayyy!Haven't had the chance to read it yet and only scan the pages.But it looks pretty good.:)

FOOD RELATED:

Baked these cream scones from the recipe on Smitten Kitchen.I added an
egg glaze on top which isn't in the recipe to give it a hint of color..:)

Me & the boyfriend found these awesome cream scones a few months ago & I've tried to replicate the recipe awhile back & I thought I found it but it didn't work. SO,a few days back,I found another one & thought,let's give it a shot.But I tweaked it a bit by adding an egg glaze on top.And if I had to do it again,I'll add an extra tablespoon of sugar.

SO HUGEEEE!

I made fresh strawberry jam to go with it as well because it tasted so much better than store bought ones.I used these big fat juicy ones for it.Just blend the strawberries sans the leafy parts with some sugar(taste how much sugar you need) and then heat the mixture until they thicken & become glossy,not cloudy.

I wanted to eat more veggies lately because my skin has been a wreck from the crazy work schedule(I don't work the normal working hours peeps!),lack of sleep and being stressed out(I seriously need to go on a vacation!).So I remembered how I read in certain food blogs and even on Masterchef that roasted broccoli and cauliflower taste really good and different than stir fry ones.And it does make a huge difference!

Basically you just mix the broccoli & cauliflower(make sure they're really dry & not wet or not they won't roast properly) with extra virgin olive oil,salt,black pepper,minced garlic+ toasted bread crumbs or parmesan if you want & lay them on a baking sheet & roast in the oven until the top of the veges turned a bit brown.Then take a fork & eat!Yummmmm..

I used a recipe from Alton Brown & it was yummy!

Yes I've been bad because I've been neglecting you my blog and also all of my readers out there(though other than my followers,I've no idea who you are..hahaha).Been busy with work,life,family and of course love.;)

WHAT.HAVE.I.BEEN.DOING?Apart from eating,sleeping,working and dating...I managed to catch up with one of my good friends,Izza who came back from NZ after on a holiday there on HER OWN for 2 weeks!Man I wish I can do that but I know my parents(my dad most importantly) wouldn't allow me) won't allow me!

New TV series galore!

In the September issue of Instyle,they featured 12 new tv series.From those 12,I managed to watch 3 of it as it's crazy to be able to watch all of them since I have other existing tv shows that I want to watch as well.

So here's the rundown of the new tv series that I'm currently watching along with the new season of some of the existing tv series.

NEW TV SERIES

1)NEW GIRL

I have to admit that at first the reason I watched this series was because of Zooey Deschanel.She's just beyond adorable in this series.In this sitcom she plays Jess a girl who's boyfriend cheated on her,so she moved out of their house and had to move in with 3 guys because her bestfriend's a model(she's a teacher) so she needs to build herself up.

Jess likes to sing..randomly and she has her own theme song.haha.She's very clumsy and klutzy but of course being Zooey Deschanel,she can make that adorable as well.The 3 guys are funny.In the first episode there was Coach,Schmidt and Nick.

But in the 2nd episode,Coach was replace with Winston,their former roommate(because Damon Wayans had a commitment with another tv show).Judging from the first 2 episodes,I have to say it will probably be a successful show just because of Zooey.

I love the character Schmidt just because he's a douche(they have a douche jar in the house whereby if any of the guys utter any douchy line they have to pay into the jar) but is secretly a softie inside.

I prefer the character Coach than Winston because he was funnier but we'll see where it goes.Overall I love the show and will continue watching it.

2)THE SECRET CIRCLE

This show is a group of witches.Ring a bell??Did anybody remember watching Charmed eons ago?So I'm a bit glad that CW is bringing a show that revolves around younger witches.Also this series is based on the books written by L.J Smith.

The series is about Cassie who upon the death of her mother,had to move in with her grandmother in her mother's hometown and discovered that she's a part of a legacy.The secret circle is about a group of 6 witches/warlocks who comes from different families.

I have watched 3 episodes and it is still vagues what Diana's father and Faye's mother intention really is.We know who killed Cassie's mum at the start of the show but as to why..perhaps it will be revealed in the episodes to follow.

I have no idea if the show will be able to sustain itself or not because almost all of the cast members aren't that well known and plus the plot is weak and it doesn't follow the book much.But the songs used in the series are good though!

3)2 BROKE GIRLS

As same as New Girl,I have only watched 2 episodes of this series and I like the fact that it's about well,2 broke girls trying to make ends meet.Max played by Kat Dennings is a waitress at a Brooklyn restaurant who's trying to also juggle her job as a nanny to the twins of an upper east sider named Peach(who's equally hilarious!).

Caroline is a socialite who's father was responsible for the Ponzi scheme scandal in NY(if you read the news,this is actually a real scandal) and had to waitress because all of her assets has been frozen,that the only thing she has is a horse.

So together Kat and Caroline lives together and trying to save up money to start a cupcake business.

EXISTING TV SERIES

1)GOSSIP GIRL(5th season)

I have only watched the 1st episode and I have to say that Dan has it baddddd.Chuck is not handling Blair's impending marriage very well.Things seems to be looking up for Serena.While Nate,is Nate.Blair may or may not be pregnant..I think she definitely is by what the seamstress told her in the last scene.Hmmmm..Can't wait for the episodes to come!Especially with Ivy/Charlie's in the picture!

2)90210(4th season)

The new characters in the 4th season are Austin,Jane and Holly.I think the only fun character now is Naomi because of the whole her versus Holly thing.Other than that,nothing much.I've watched up to the 3rd episode and I can't wait for more but that Holly is sure hell bent on destroying Naomi because I guess she's threatened by her but I know Naomi will prevail!

3)HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER(7th season)

I am sorry but after the 7th season,IT IS TIRESOME WAITING FOR WHO THE HECK THE MOTHER IS.It's getting old!!!The boyfriend loathe this series because the jokes are not as funny as Friends.The same things happening allover again in each season.And I have to agree that the formula is getting old and boring.Plus there's more exciting shows now!

4)THE BIG BANG THEORY(5th season)

I like the fact that they're exploring Amy's character more as the episodes goes.Jim Parsons as Sheldon is a good enough reason to watch this show!

I will try to be grateful EVERYDAY..:)

I am one of those lucky people because I have a mum and also a boyfriend who are positive individuals.I can be so negative and think the worse of things at times.I get upset/offended over little things when in actual fact you can choose not to be.The boyfriend is so patient with me and always walk me through my various emotions and try to let me see the positive side of things and rationalize things.

He has a very good effect on me because he makes me see things in a different,more positive light.Sometimes it can be a bit annoying because he's almost always right..haha.

But then he has been through stuffs more than I did(being older and whatnot..haha).He's always like, 'okay let's find a way to solve through this'--whenever I have a problem or is upset over something.

It's much easier to be negative and paranoid than it is to be positive and rationale about things.Especially when at times you see people going through tough times and then you're like,will it happen to me,to us.

But why not instead choose to be positive and look on the bright side of things and hope for the best.After all,if we envision something in our head many times,it will materialize itself and would you want it to be good or bad?

So after reading an article in a magazine recently,I will try to tweet about what I'm grateful for on that particular day,for every single day of the year.:)) Hopefully I'll stick to it.

Because I think as human beings,it is easy for us to focus about what is wrong with our life and whine about it rather than make changes and be grateful for what we have which others might not have.I have great people in my life who loves me and there's no reason for me not to be happy!

Style Obsession & others

Ever since high school I've been watching Laguna Beach because of LC(what she was known back then) or now more known as Lauren Conrad.Then in Uni I followed her on The Hills.

Which she stayed on for 4 seasons and then left because of Speidi(attention seeking Heidi & Spencer) but after that people didn't really wanted to watch The Hills because duh,it was suppose to be about Lauren.

I love her understated style,her perfect hair and now she has made a name of herself.Choosing to separate herself from the frivolous alums of Laguna Beach,Lauren created her own fashion line(that was a bust at first because of pricing issue but now her Paper Crown line look very promising) and authored three NY Times best selling books(which was loosely based on reality tv and actually revealed a lot about why she quit the whole thing).

I've read all of her books and although they're not 'heavy',it's pretty entertaining and an eye opener to 'reality' tv.Her two websites Laurenconrad.com and thebeautydepartment.com is very successful.Below are a few pictures of her that I love.

Olivia Palermo is THE BLAIR WALDORF.Rumor has it the character Blair in the book series Gossip Girl(I read it back in high school) was based on this real upper east side princess.I love her style and how she just like Lauren always look put together and chic,never sloppy or too sexy.

The cast of Big Bang Theory looking soooo different!

I'm very thankful because what we have is far leap
and bounds than my previous relationship last year.

New season of some of my favorite tv shows are back!

Been watching the 1st and 2nd episode of 90210 season 4 and I've to say that it looks promising.Especially with Naomi plotting her revenge!She's my fave character in the show because she has lots of guts!hehe.

Also the second season of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills are back and the shows culminate what happened between Taylor and Russel and glimpse on why he committed suicide.In episode 3 I was just so enamored with Kyle's little girl,Portia with her 'pooper scooper' bit.So cute!

Season 2 of Top Chef Just Desserts are out and in episode 4 they've to recreate one of the set in the original Willy Wonka & the chocolate factory(my fave,the one with Gene Wilder!).It was AMAZING!I even watched the episode again this time with the boyfriend to show how amazing it was.Everything was edible from the walls to the chocolate waterfall.

Cannot wait to watch new episodes of The Big Bang Theory,Gossip Girl and How I Met Your Mother soon!:)

I've been actively revamping this blog and blogging this year.So thankful that more people are reading my blog that now my page view have reached 100k+..Thank you everyone who stop over and read this little blog of mine!!

Never sloppy or overtly sexy.In this video she personally demonstrated how to do the fishtail braid that's one of the most popular hairstyle right now.It's really easy if you ever want to try it.Though I don't like to tie my hair but if I ever want to do so,I'll definitely follow the instructions in this vid!

I was influenced to watch them thanks to my man,Razin Yuzer.One night he showed me so many of their videos and I have to say that they're not only funny but very smart as well!

UPDATED:Suddenly rainbow cakes are popping up everywhere.I remembered blogging about it back in early 2010!Even in small bakery in shah alam there's rainbow cakes & now Groupon have an offer on how to learn to bake it!But nothing will compare to the one the boyfriend surprised me with on my birthday!hehe..:P

I know,I know---I should probably blog about what I have been doing lately but I'm pretty tired actually.Plus,both me and him have been busy this week that we didn't get to hang out much,but we manage to squeeze in a bit of us time when he came over to my office for dinner a couple of time this week.(I work irregular hours!).

Managed to spend 3 hours at the spa yesterday(Embun Seri) & got myself a much needed massage & facial!Also got my hair trimmed & blow by Uncle Terry(he does my mum's hair for ages and also my aunts!).

Went to the boyf's & his sister's open house last night.This weekend I'll be busy with Master's stuff.Last weekend was filled with open houses and a wedding.This weekend was the same as well more open houses & a wedding--yes crazy because happened on BOTH weekends.

Paris Je T'aime

This movie came out on 2006 but I only watched it on Friday night.I've heard about this movie years back but didn't know where to get a copy of it.Luckily,the boyfriend told me about it 2 days before & that it was a very good movie & better than New York,I Love You & he downloaded it via torrent so we can watch it together.

The movie consists of 18 short films for 18 different arrondissements(Paris consists of 20 Arrondissements).2 other short films--XVe arrondissement, directed by Christoffer Boe, and XIe arrondissement, by Raphaël Nadjari,were not included in the movie due to time constraint,I guess.haha.

I have to say that I prefer the France(the actual original version) over the NY version.I recognize the names of some of the producers--Gerard Depardieu,Wes Craven,Alexander Payne,Alfonso Cuaron and Gurindher Chadha.There were also some familiar faces in the movie like Elijah Wood,Maggie Gylenhaal,Natalie Portman,Catalina Sandina Moreno,Steve Buscemi,and Juliette Binoche.

Out of the 18 short films,all of which was good(except for the bizzare hairstylist in Chinatown directed by Christopher Doyle),my fave was Tour Eiffel (VIIe arrondissement) written & directed by French animator Sylvain Chomet and Faubourg Saint-Denis (Xe arrondissement) — by German writer-director Tom Tykwer.

Tour Eiffel was just so cute!It is about this little boy who was telling the story about how his parents met and fall in love--which was in prison!Both of his parents are mime.You should really watch it as it is so cute.

Fauborg Saint-Denis was about a young couple-a struggling actress and her blind boyfriend.He taught they were broken up via a phone call so he told the story about how they drifted apart.

The other 16 short films are(taken from Wiki because I've no time to write all.haha)

1)Montmartre (XVIIIe arrondissement)by French writer-director Bruno Podalydès. A man (played by Podalydès himself) parks his car on a Montmartre street and muses about how the women passing by his car all seem to be "taken". Then a woman passerby (Florence Muller) faints near his car, and he comes to her aid. --I love the monologue by Podalydès at the start of the film.So funny!

2)Quais de Seine (Ve arrondissement) made by the husband-and-wife team of Japanese-American screenwriter Paul Mayeda Berges and Gurinder Chadha. A young man (Cyril Descours), hanging out with two friends who taunt all women who walk by, strikes up a friendship with a young Muslim woman (Leïla Bekhti). --A great one that featured a Muslim woman.

3)Le Marais (IVe arrondissement)by Gus Van Sant. A young male customer (Gaspard Ulliel) finds himself attracted to a young printshop worker (Elias McConnell) and tries to explain that he believes the man to be his soulmate...-you should watch the bittersweet twist at the end!

4)Tuileries (Ier arrondissement) by Joel and Ethan Coen. A comic film in which an American tourist (Steve Buscemi) waiting at the Tuileries station becomes involved in the conflict between a young couple (Axel Kiener and Julie Bataille) after he breaks the cardinal rule of avoiding eye contact with people on the Paris Metro. -The couple was just crazy!

5)Loin du 16e (XVIe arrondissement; literally: "far from the 16th") by Walter Salles and Daniela Thomas. A young immigrant woman (Catalina Sandino Moreno) sings a Spanish lullaby ("Qué Linda Manita") to her baby before leaving it in a daycare. -Cute babies alert!!

6)Porte de Choisy (XIIIe arrondissement) directed by Christopher Doyle.A comic film in which a beauty products salesman (Barbet Schroeder) makes a call on a Chinatown salon run by a woman (Li Xin) who proves to be a tough customer. --weird!

7)Bastille (XIIe arrondissement) by Isabel Coixet. Prepared to leave his marriage for a much younger lover, Marie Christine (Leonor Watling), a man named Sergio (Sergio Castellitto) instead decides to stay with his wife (Miranda Richardson) after she reveals a terminal illness - and he rediscovers the love he once felt for her. --a great story about how you can fall in love with someone again.

8)Place des Victoires (IIe arrondissement) by Nobuhiro Suwa. A mother (Juliette Binoche), grieving over the death of her little boy (Martin Combes), is comforted by a magical cowboy (Willem Dafoe). --this was a sad but hopeful short film.

9)Parc Monceau (XVIIe arrondissement) by Alfonso Cuarón. An older man (Nick Nolte) and younger woman (Ludivine Sagnier) meet for an arrangement that a third person ('Gaspard'), who is close to the woman, may not approve of. --this film will fool you because if you listen to what they're talking about,you might make an assumption regarding their relationship!

10)Quartier des Enfants Rouges (IIIe arrondissement) by Olivier Assayas. An American actress (Maggie Gyllenhaal) procures some exceptionally strong hashish from a dealer (Lionel Dray) whom she gets a crush on. --Don't do drugs Maggie!haha

11)Place des fêtes (XIXe arrondissement) by Oliver Schmitz. A Nigerian man (Seydou Boro), dying from a stab wound in the Place des fêtes asks a woman paramedic (Aïssa Maïga) for a cup of coffee. --this was very sad.Especially the last part whereby they zoom on the woman's shaking hands.

12)Pigalle (IXe arrondissement) by Richard LaGravenese. An aging couple (Bob Hoskins and Fanny Ardant) act out a fantasy argument for a prostitute in order to keep the spark in their relationship. ---the end of this film was sweet

13)Quartier de la Madeleine (VIIIe arrondissement) by Vincenzo Natali. A young backpacker tourist (Elijah Wood) falls in love with a vampiress (Olga Kurylenko).--this was very creepy because of the female vampire!!

14)Père-Lachaise (XXe arrondissement) by Wes Craven. While visiting Père Lachaise Cemetery, a young woman (Emily Mortimer) breaks up with her fiancé (Rufus Sewell). --I didn't really understood their conversation at first.The 'ghost' part was cool!haha

15)Quartier Latin (VIe arrondissement)directed by French actor Gérard Depardieu and French director Frédéric Auburtin.A separated couple (Ben Gazzara and Rowlands) meet at a bar (run by Gerard Depardieu) for one last drink before the two officially divorce. --this was a bit confusing as well.But you should listen closely to their conversation.

16)14e arrondissement (XIVe arrondissement)written and directed by Alexander Payne. Carol (Margo Martindale), a letter carrier from Denver, Colorado on her first European holiday, recites in rough French what she loves about Paris. --The woman French accent was just so funny!I love how this film was from the point view of a tourist.

There has been lots of things in the news that I just thought I wanted to share with you guys:

1)Have your heard about the 19 year old boy studying at UiTM Perak who burned his girlfriend to death?From the article that I read in The Star,HERE apparently it was motivated out of jealousy..what gives??A crazy world we're living in now!

2)Oh did you guys see the footage on the news about this dude who drove his van on our highway but in the opposite direction and on the right lane at that?CRAZYYYYY!He drove that way for 20 mins or more..my mum thought he was trying to kill himself or something.

3)For someone who did her practicum at her former highschool(SMSK9) for 3 months and actually was also in charge of supervising the sports team that arwah Aminulrasyid was in,it was bittersweet to hear the news that the cop who shoot him will be sentence for 5 years in jail.Read the news HERE.

Sometimes me & my other half have very random conversation.Case in point,a colleague of mine at work who's getting married soon asked me about where she can find a cupcake wedding cake and we googled a few websites online.And it made me realize that it would be great for my own wedding,not that I'm getting married anytime soon,mine you.It would be nice though to have a cake such as the one below.

BUT the boyfriend was all no no no,a wedding is about 2 people so he gets to choose the cake as well and he wanted a PIZZA!-_-To which I pointed out why don't he be like one of his friends whom during our conversation with him last week,didn't even know what's going on with his wedding as everything is taken care by his relatives & fiancee.

Or like what Monica told Chandler in Friends,all he had to do was show up.ahaha.Really,I think a cupcake wedding cake is better because I want lotsa yummy cupcakes so my guests can get one each.So just one tiny cake for the bride & groom & lots of cupcakes will surround the cake.And they have to have buttercream frosting and no fondant because I want it to be tasty not just pretty..:)

I love green tea and have been drinking the drink,the real bitter loose leaf version without sugar and not the watered down + sweet version many drink company in Malaysia tries to market,ever since I can remember.I think it started when I was 14 or 15 years old.None of my family member share this love with me.

Thankfully my boyfriend and his sister loves drinking green tea as well.A few days back,his mum showed me this green tea plant that she got from one of her friends who had a Japanese friend living here & plants these in her garden!How cool is that?Now I get to drink fresh green tea!Woohoo.Can't wait for it to be planted in their garden.

Wondermilk-ing it

Last Saturday,after attending a lunch/beraya session at the boyfriend's friend's house,we went to Wondermilk at Citta Mall Ara Damansara because I've never been there and although I've eaten a cuppacake(the name of Wondermilk's cupcakes,not a typo!) years back,I've never actually sat down at any of their outlets(one in Uptown Damansara & the other a new one in Ara Damansara).

A lot of speculation was made on Twitter a few months back on where will the new Wondermilk outlet be.A lot of people was hoping that it'd be in Shah Alam since there's 3 university in it so it's a no brainer.But surprisingly they choose Ara Damansara & I've to say that Citta Mall looks DEAD.It was the weekend but the place looks EMPTY.Nobody goes there!WRONG LOCATION people!

Nonetheless,I was there for the cupcakes.So I bought 8 of them.2 which I ate with the boyfriend there with a cup of Creme Brulatte for me and cold Butterscotch Milk for him.I choose the cupcakes & went outside to sit while he was waiting for our drinks inside(the place is self service).

Now,before we arrived there,I told the boyf about a piece of news that was shared on twitter & blog over the very bad service of Wondermilk at Citta Mall which you can read HERE.I was a bit prepared for it but then the boyfriend was like,'why are we coming here then if the service is bad?Let's go home!'.But I was adamant to give them the benefit of the doubt & to try the food there for myself.Maybe they've improved right??.......

Imagine my surprise when my man came out from the store & brought our drinks,he told me that the service was bad because the servers at the counter was very BLUR & LEMBAB.I was wondering why our drinks took such a long time.Suffice to say he was very annoyed with their service.

So after we ate a cupcake each,I wanted to buy 2 more of the chocolove orange cupcake because it was excellent.I went inside and when I went to the cupcake display to choose the cupcakes,all of the servers at the counter(who are all males),was in a corner near the kitchen & they did not pay attention if there was anybody at the counter!I had to practically shout like 'Excuse me!' to them to get their attention.Sigh.

No wonder the boyfriend said that there was a family who was queuing up before us & the father said..'The service is so lembab isn't it?'..Haiyooo.Wondermilk has got to buckle up because this is SEPTEMBER already & bad reviews about the service at the new outlet has been heard since JULY!

When I brought home the cuppacakes to my family,my dad & my boyfriend(he send me home & he beraya-ed with my family for dinner as well) agreed,along with my mum that the price was way overprice for a tiny cupcake--rm4.50 each.But I would buy it again because although it was tiny,it was very delicious.

My verdict?Great cupcakes/cuppcakes:YES.Bad service:YES.I probably will go there again to buy the cupcakes & go home.haha.

The Adjustment Bureau--an unexpected movie

The boyfriend has been persuading me to watch this movie with him for about a month or so now as he feels that I should really watch it.

It's not that I didn't want to watch it,I do.But from the title of the movie itself,I thought it's going to be one of those complex movies that requires your full concentration,something which I can't do since previously I was busy baking cookie orders or recuperating at home after 5 days of work(cehhhhhh).

Plus,I'll always be going out with him that by the time we get back home,we'll forget all about it.

And one time the boyf was like,I'll put it in your harddisk & then you can watch it when you're free & then----my harddisk malfunctioned & I haven't repaired it yet since.Furthermore(oh lord this is getting long!haha) everytime he download the movie again,one of his siblings will accidentally delete it or thought he has it already & deleted it to make space.haiyaaaa..

SO..FINALLY we managed to watch(well I was watching it for the 1st time as the boyf has watched it before)it tonight after dinner and I have to say that the title was very misleading.For someone who has no knowledge of the movie,I never thought it'd be a movie about love.

By the end of the movie my mind was in full thinking mode about everything on love.

The start of this movie was misleading as well because I was like in my head..'this is a movie about politics after all'..haha.

The movie is about NY congressman named David Norris who's in the running for the US Senate&when he was about to make a speech to rectify a sudden blow to his campaign,he met this lady in the men's bathroom& sparks flew& it made him change the course of his speech.

Fast forward the next day,he met her again while he took a bus. Unbeknownst to him,there's an Adjustment Bureau that is responsible in making sure that everything is in order and that he wasn't suppose to even meet Elise(the name of the girl,played by the lovely Emily Blunt).

The storyline is brilliant,great script,great actors and great pacing.

I won't spoil much of the storyline as I believe you guys should watch the movie and judge it for yourself.

But I can tell you this.The movie made me think about how there's a lot of people out there who aren't able to give their 100% in a relationship but then they expect to get 100% as well.I'm glad my man and I are on the same page about this.

Some people are so used to being single that once they do get involve in a relationship,they find it hard to assimilate and still have this mentality that it's my life,I can do whatever what I want when I want to without actually disregarding the other half's feeling.Being in a relationship is about US not ME.

It also made me think that on the other hand,if you met the right one you will be ultimately able to give 100%.Now I know a lot of you there are skeptical when it comes to the term 'The Right One'--but here me out:

The right one is not someone who's right for EVERYONE.He/she doesn't have to have a specific list of characteristics or physical attributes.But what make that person 'right' is the fact that he/she might not be right for another but is just right for you.In other words,they complete you.

David is the man who was willing to give it all up for a girl--you have to watch the movie to see what he gave up.Might be just a girl to all of us but to him,she's the world.

My very intelligent other half told me,when I told him how this movie was misleading since I never thought it'd be about love:Sayang,what movie doesn't have a love story?Everything is about love.:)

Movie review:Something Borrowed and Bridesmaids

I have more movies to write about on but a lot of them I just seem to forget about.Both movies below weren't watched by me at the cinema but instead at the comfort of both mine & the boyf's house.

SOMETHING BORROWED

Truthfully I had high hopes for this movie because I adore Kate Hudson and I thought the trailer looks promising.But this movie was such a letdown.Poor storyline,weak characters and a predictable ending.The only thing I love about this movie was John Krasinki.The story is just STUPID.Period.I feel sorry for those of you who had to endure this movie at the cinema.

BRIDESMAIDS

This movie is miles different than Something Borrowed.It is smart and funny and had many interesting characters.I love Kirsten Wiig on SNL and she delivered an awesome performance.

Although Rose Byrne character as Helen was very annoying because she was near perfect,it wasn't her fault that Annie(Wiig's character)life was in shambles.But the fact that Helen has a perfect life eats Annie up inside.

I've seen this situation happening in real life because whenever your life is a bit on the sucky side or you have nothing to be happy about,it's easy to envy and hate others who have it all or better than you.But at the end of the day,your greatest enemy is yourself so you have to work on your own life which is what Annie had to do albeit with a few push from some of her friends.

So it was very interesting to see it being played out in a movie and in such a hilarious way.One of the most unexpected and super funny character was played by Melissa McCarthy(the bright & pretty chef,Sookie in Gilmore Girls)as Megan who actually was the that made Annie realize how she's been putting her life on hold and then ended up resenting Helen for it.

There are lots of funny moments that I am very sure won't be allowed in Malaysian cinema.So it's better if you can download it via torrent!:)

Masterchef US Season 1 & 2

As those of you who's living in Malaysia knows..a version of Malaysian Masterchef is in the works now.So out of curiosity I decided to watch both seasons of the US version to know how the show works and what it's all about.I was pleasantly surprised because it was a very good show.

The show is about contestants who are amateur cooks who have never been trained professionally or worked in any food-related line.So basically they're just like you or me.

Masterchef judges consist of 3 very tough and talented culinary individuals.The very well known Gordon Ramsay,Joe Bastianich(the son of the famous Lidia Bastianich,also a chef) and Graham Elliot.

After 2 episodes of audition,the final line up of contestants will have to endure a set of challenges in each episode.

The first one is the Mystery Box challenge whereby they have to cook using whatever ingredients is in the box and the winner will get an advantage in the Elimination Challenge.

In some episodes throughout both seasons,there's no Mystery Box challenge and they go straight on to the Elimination Challenge and it will be held outside of the Masterchef venue.The team that loses(cos it's mostly a team challenge) will have to participate in a Pressure Test.

Some of my favorite episodes in Season 1 was:

1)The Cupcake Challenge --because the ingredients they had to work with look absolutely amazing!.

2)The Trucker challenge--I love the fact that the red team cater to the truckers and made changes in their burger toppings.

3)The Wedding Challenge-that was hard because these people aren't trained professional and they had to cook for a wedding!

4)The Marines challenge--The contestants had to feed 150 marines with their family members.It was quite a sad episode as well.

5)Replicating Cat Cora's dish elimination challenge--All of the contestants had to replicate a dish by Iron Chef Cat Cora that was chosen by the contestant who won the previous challenge.There was an unexpected twist in this challenge that would have catapulted a contestant to the finals..but you know how that goes!

1)The Layercake elimination challenge--That was very interesting as a lot of the contestants can cook but not all of them can bake.

2)Replicating Whitney's dish elimination challenge--The winner of season 1 came and all of the contestants had to replicate a dish from her cookbook that was chosen by the Mystery Box winner.

3)The Block Party challenge--The contestants was divided into 2 groups and they had to make one dish & one side dish for a neighborhood kids block party.It was so much fun to see the kids reaction towards their food.They are really honest with their opinions!

The judges mothers challenge

4)The Judges Mothers challenge--When the judges describe who the contestants was going to cook for,they thought it was going to be for the toughest food critics out there because of their intimidating descriptions!Turns out they were cooking for the judges mother!

5)The Hollywood Party challenge--This was just very chaotic because some of the contestants just wasn't prepared to cook for lots of people at one time.One of the dishes served was just very embarassing--cut up fruits/berries served with whipped cream & served in little cupcake cups??CRAZY!

Wisdom teeth pulled out

So,I had THIS experience all over again but this time it was with a different doctor and it was the wisdom tooth on my right side of the mouth.It was very painful after the anesthetic wore off but less painful than my previous experience because I learned my lesson--meaning when my mouth was numb after the surgery didn't mean that I can talk and talk and chew food because in an hour it will wear off!

Didn't talk much and communicate with the boyfriend soon after the surgery via pen and paper.It was hilarious because I couldn't talk at all.It was super sweet of him to be there for me and made sure I was alright,and ate a bit of porridge(could only manage 2 spoonful) and drank choc milk(cos' we went to the store & there was no the ready to drink Vico).

One of the sweetest thing was he remembered how I like my blanket to be folded under my feet & did that for me without me asking--the little things does says a lot about a person--, because after I took my meds I doze off to lalaland.

He bought me cheezy wedges after I woke up (hey it's soft so I was able to eat them & plus I texted him requesting for it because when I wake up I was super hungry) and we watched a few episodes of Breaking Bad(man that show is INTENSE!).The doc gave me mc for tomorrow as well.Gonna watch new episodes of Top Chef Just Desserts season 2!

This experience just further showed me that no matter how busy(which he was from early morning until evening)he was, he made time to make sure I was okay and be there for me.He always never ever fail to make me feel love and cared for but today:love and care at its finest..:)

Recap of Pretty Little Liars and Drop Dead Diva

Firstly how do I managed to watch these series?It is thanks to the boyfriend's super fast unifi..so far I've watched both seasons of Masterchef US as well which I will blog about soon.Also more past seasons of Top Chef(since I started watching the series from the latest one which is season 8).

Pretty Little Liars(season 2)

One of the main reasons why I actually watch this show is the fact that I love the 4 girls perfectly coiffed wavy hairdo,make up and clothes.They always look so pretty but not in a too perfect kind of way so other girls out there can actually relate to each of their style.

Look closely and you can see that the stylist on the show incorporate new fashion trends into the style of each character.Like Aria wore feathers and even had a strand of her hair turned into a feather that it blended with her hair seamlessly.

Another beauty trend that was featured on the show that even InStyle mag covered in their Sept or was it August issue was the look of mint green nail polish.

Okay now that I've talked a bit about the style on PLL that I love..let's talk about the story plot this time around for season 2.

Personally I think A is getting so much creepier.A is practically ruining the girls lives in so many devious ways.Like putting steroid into Emily's pain cream and jeopardizing her scholarship.And the whole 'scavenger hunt'by asking the girls to do things in order to save Dr.Sullivan and if you watch the last episode of the 1st half of the second season,you'll know how it ended.

I knew that Jenna & Garret being very shady must mean something.Interesting that Aria had to choose between Jason & Ezra but then we know who is less creepy(hurmmm PLL has a lot of creepy characters doesn't it?).I just hope,judging from the last episode that Ezra manage to come clean with Aria's mum regarding their relationship.

And Ezra's ex,Jackie is such a bitch!urgh...that bitch has got to go.On Spencer front,although Toby is nice and everything,I prefer her with Wren cos' it will heat up things a bit.Plus the fact that he's British and very dishy helps as well..:P

Who the hell is A?If you read the book you'll know who it is,as do I but now as the season goes by,I keep thinking that A could be someone else.Confusing!!But that's part of the charm I guess because it keeps us intrigued.

Drop Dead Diva(season 3)

I love Drop Dead Diva this season because they had A LOT of interesting cases.From a mail order bride scam to a douche football player who rapes girl and then tweets about the number of his conquest.To Stacy being sued over her video blog.

Or one of the best episode was when the girl that Deb hates when she was in a sorority who's that super funny character that I love in the classic old tv show Popular sued a casino for making her intoxicated and spend her money gambling--you'd be amazed on the findings!

I'm glad that Jane might have found a love interest in Owen though I do wish she could tell Grayson that she's Deb because lets face it,they have so much chemistry!And plus his wedding with Vanessa didn't go through and even his relationship with that bar chick didn't pan out!Sigh.

I'm so angry at Stacy for cheating on Fred,the guy who loves her so much and they finally got it together and then she blew him off for a C-lister actor.God!Cannot wait for 2 more episodes to come out!

Last weekend & a few days during this week

The weekend is the time when I get to wake up at whatever time I want and go wherever I want to go and then go home at night a bit late & not worrying having to wake up early the next morning.haha.So last Saturday me & the boyf went to Ikea.Mucked around and imagine what our house will look like(awww) and like sorta pick out the furniture we wanted.:P

And it was sort of the day of reckoning because get this,I never tasted Ikea meatballs before!Usually when I go there with my mum,we go to buy stuffs and not to eat.Plus,I make damn good meatballs(or so my family,the boyfriend & his family & my friends made me to believe) so I never had to go out and buy them.:P

So when it was time for me to taste it,I was a bit nervous..I mean what if it tasted better than mine?haha.

The verdict:The best part about the Ikea meatballs was the combination of gravy + lingonberry jam/sauce.The meatballs was like sausages you buy at the frozen section--it was compact and tasted of meat and nothing more--thus I breathe a sigh of relief that although it was quite tasty,the boyfriend agreed that mine was 'melt in your mouth kind of meatballs'..hehe.

On Sunday,the weather was beautiful so I wanted to go out and watch the sunset with boyfriend.So in the evening,we walked along the quite dirty stretch at Tanjung Harapan.I suggested the place because it was only 30 mins away from Shah Alam.

It was peaceful because we parked our car quite far and walked down the road.When the sun set,he suggested we eat sushi so we went to Subang Parade for Sushi King(as he wanted to avoid the crowd at Pyramid).

Last night the boyf brought me to Coca Thai ( a place whereby his family celebrate special occasions like birthdays)because he was gone for a day on Monday to Kedah & Penang to ran some errands & I miss him terribly & wish I could follow him but I had to work so I couldn't..T_T.

The food there was good and I understood why he said it had the best steamboat--the sauce they used was super tasty!And apparently he said that they guard the recipe so tight that even if you takeaway the meal from there,they won't give you any sauce to bring home with!

Today after work,he came to the office to pick me up & then we went to dinner at HOMST.I haven't had dinner there in quite sometime!We had super good buttered prawns(with my allergy medicine with me 24/7 now I can eat seafood whenever I want!),stir fried kailan with oyster sauce and sweet & sour fish fillet.It hit the spot since I didn't eat anything from breakfast.

Calling it a nite!2 more days before it's the weekend again..my how time flies!
