Back during Raya last year I was introduced to my boyfriend bestfriend's brother,Syafiq(same name as my own brother!) who just got back from New York where he studied culinary arts and worked at Jean Georges.I was like..you worked at a 3-Michelin star restaurant???Started talking to Syafiq about food,food documentaries and many more.It was really exciting meeting someone who loves food/cooking so much.

Syafiq told us that he's planning to open a restaurant and I was excited!If you followed me on instagram you would have known that one night, months back, the boyfriend and I visited the site for Syafiq's restaurant with him in SS19.Back then it was just concrete and there was no construction.Now it has transformed and become a very chilled and relax looking environment.

I love the wooden tables and the greenery.The space is huge so there's a lot of exciting things that can happen there in months to come?!BUT it's not open to the public yet..it will be open for you guys early February.Please check their fb page and website for updates!

I've went there a few times already.For coffee/tea tasting--you'll love their cafe latte.I finish the whole thing in less than 5 minutes haha Syafiq clearly wants the best for his customers so he took the time to do taste/service tests with his friends and family to ensure that the place will run smoothly once it opens.

Last week we had a food + service test run at Fiq's.I won't elaborate about the dishes because I don't want you guys to order based on what I loved from their menu.They make everything themselves there.They even bake their own breads and there's a selection of awesome milkshakes as well!The pictures above are some of the many dishes that we ordered.I have a few personal favorites but I'll talk about them once Fiq's Gastronomy officially opens.

I want to wish the best of luck to Syafiq and his crew.Fiq's Gastronomy is clearly a labor of love by him and I'm sure bigger things will be heading his way!:)

It has been so long since I last blog about anything.Trust me it's not on purpose.Been awfully busy moving to our new office,which might I add,is closer to home because it's in Shah Alam!I don't have to face crazy traffic jam every day anymore..hooray!Pictures of the launching day of our office are below :)

Anyway,this post has been in draft mode for a few weeks so here it goes.Sorry for being a bad blogger but honestly I was busy living my life to the fullest :P

KEDAI PELIK
My friend Freaky(or Firdaus Putra,which is is his real name) opened his own store in Shah Alam.I've known him since my Uitm days and when people ask we would always say that he's my cousin because I look exactly like one of his cousins..haha.

Anyway,Freaky started Boonga Art Shoes back when we were in uni days and he was featured in various media for it.Now finally he has his own store and he named it Kedai Pelik(Weird Store) which is situated in Section 7 Shah Alam.The store has shirts and merchandise from many local brands like:
Mayhem,OAG,Wulpak,Sifu,Homeboy,Pelik,Swanx,Beli Tee,Boonga,Komplot,Karma,Relorva,Tie Dye,12amstudio,Beli Tee,Tempatan, Logic Skatewear and many more!

On the opening day I managed to buy a shirt by Pelik for the boyfriend which he wore above.The boyfriend and his brother commented that the fabric was very nice.Super soft cotton t-shirt!There were a performance on the opening day,food(I provided the chocolate chip cookies) and an ice cream man!

BURGER FACTORY

Had a late lunch on the same day at Burger Factory because Qeema suggested it.The burgers were pretty good.Even the onion rings.But the chocolate milkshake was a disappointment.

I ordered the Bacon Razor burger and it was delicious!But Qeema said the patty was a bit dry.Would I go there again?Probably in a few months hahaa The burger was so huge that I couldn't finish them.:P

I'm very thankful that my boyfriend,Razin has a family that makes a point to make me feel like I'm one of them even when Razin and I aren't married yet haha.They always invite me to join them for dinner outside,family meeting and recently I went to the wedding of Razin's cousin.

His aunt whom I've met and we've even met at two weddings(my cousin's&my friends Hafriz&Izlin's),invited me personally and I went with Raushan's(Razin's brother) girlfriend,Maisara.Our boyfriend was busy with the wedding preparation so we went together haha The theme for Razin's cousin's side was grey and his mum gave me a baju to wear since I didn't have any formal attire in grey :P

BBC's Sherlock season 3--first episode:The Empty Hearse

I've been waiting for the third season of Sherlock's to start.It's been such a long time!Over 2 years?When the first episode which was called "The Empty Hearse" ended last night I was a bit sad because I realized that there's only 2 episodes left to go!

So of course,from the finale of season 2,we'd known that Sherlock didn't fall to his death but the question was HOW?So many theories was shared on the net and some of them were plausible.I wanted to share my theory here last year but never did haha.

I wanted to blog more about season 1 and 2 of Sherlock but I thought why give it all away when people should experience the brilliance of the show themselves?Two of my favorite actors are in this tv series and they're flawless in their acting.

Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman are just such good actors!In this first episode,the boyfriend and I was amazed with Martin Freeman's acting..especially when he founds out that Sherlock is still alive.*gasp* His reaction was just epic..that was a really great scene.

So did the episode explained how Sherlock survive his fall??I guess....?

Sherlock mentioned there were 13 different ways that he came up with for his survival from the fall,with 13 different code names,but only two were explained in the episode--please disregard the gay theory of Sherlock & Moriarty hahaha

We'll never really know how he survive his fall!But it did show that he choose the Lazarus plan when he texted his brother.I think they use the name Lazarus because the writers for Sherlock used to be writers for Doctor Who and there's an episode from Doctor Who called Project:Lazarus?Yeah..I did a little bit of googling :P

We also got to meet Sherlock's parents for only like a split second haha.Oh yeah,a lot of people knew that Sherlock wasn't dead and has been alive for the past two years.Molly knew,Mycroft knew,his parents knew,his homeless network knew..a lot of people knew except for Watson and Mrs Hudson.So it's understandable why he's so mad.

Molly has moved on and so does Watson..I laughed when Mrs Hudson was surprised that Watson is marrying Mary when she thought that Sherlock is his boyfriend hahahah 

Oh by the way,did you know that Mary who's played by Amanda Abbington is actually Martin Freeman's real life partner?They've been together for 13 years and have a son and daughter together!I know this before season 3 came out and shared this info with the boyfriend.So when Watson said all those sweet things to Mary,it wasn't hard for Martin Freeman to connect with what he's saying..awwww

In this episode,after Sherlock revealed himself to the public from the 'dead',he had to help Mycroft with a terrorism issue..which I won't elaborate here because you guys should watch the episode!But I can tell you that it was really sexy at the start of the episode when Sherlock was tortured because you could see his ripped body..haha Also,he drives a motorcycle in one of the scene!

Sherlock's fan,rejoice!There's only two more episodes to go.The second episode(The Sign of Three) will come out on 5th of January(UK).So we get to download and watch it a day or so after that.Hail technology!haha

Review:The Secret Life of Walter Mitty

Welcome to 2014!How was your New Year's Eve and New Year's Day?I spend both days going out on dates with my guy,baking,buying groceries, and hanging out at home(which I rarely got to do haha) :)

Last night I watched my first movie for the year of 2014 and it was a really good one.Props to the director who's also the main actor.Oh,this movie is loosely based on the short story by James Thurber of the same name.

I've watched the trailer for The Secret Life of Walter Mitty weeks before but I thought he was a UPS delivery guy of some sort because of his outfit and also over the fact that he was carrying a parcel.I guess I did't really remember the trailer :P

But actually Walter works for Life magazine as the negative assets(pictures) manager.He has a crush on his co-worker Cheryl but can never bring himself to ask her out on a date.Walter has a problem as well..he day dreams..A LOT that he spaces out in the middle of a conversation.He has a pretty active imagination!

One day he receives a set of negatives from Sean O'Connell,a photojournalist who works closely with him, which includes a gift for him,a wallet,for his excellent work.Among the negatives,Sean specifically asks for the negatives number 25 to be used as the cover for the last issue of LIFE.

But Walter and his co-worker Hernando can't seem to find it!This is where things get interesting because I love mystery/solving clues etc..Walter have to find Sean's whereabouts to get the negative 25 and he does this by looking at the photos that were given to him from Sean.

At the same time,the staffs for LIFE magazine are being retrenched because the magazine will no longer be in print and will only be available online(I thought that this was very current as I myself subscribes to a lot of online magazines on my iPad :P)

The movie gets so beautiful when Walter travels to Greenland,Iceland and the Himalays in order to find Sean,because of the amazing sceneries.I also love how Ben Stiller(Walter)is looking way hotter now as he grows older.hahaha You can see that his whole look changes and or as that Todd guy from e-harmony calls him--Indiana Jones meet The Strokes?haha

Also,it was interesting when Walter's mother had some of the major clues all along..further proving my point about a mother's instincts!My own mother always seems to know what I need before I even know it haha

Do watch the movie as you won't be sorry!Ben Stiller did a good job with this movie as a director,producer and main actor!

The ending was beautiful as well.Such an uplifting movie,a perfect one to start 2014 with.Here's to another amazing year :)

Oh,I'd give this movie 4 out of 5!
