Nostalgic

Wednesday, April 30, 2008 Liyana Hanim 3 Comments

I started this post with a lil bit of tears as this is quite a sad post and as I'm typing this, the memories start to rush in...Here it goes...

Not a lot of people can accept you for who you really are....

I have many faults but of course I have my plus points too....
In my lifetime,I find it very hard to trust others and I get very suspicious of people true motives...Given the life that I had,the one that my close friends knows about,...it's not surprising how hard it is for me to truly trust someone.

I am many things...most days I'm cheerful but there are times when I can be really moody or bitchy...That's life right?

The point is,it's really rare to find a friend whom have seen you at your best and at your worst,
and whom have gotten into serious trouble because of you[glad that it's behind us & you know how sorry I was for that... : ( ], but still being able to stay good friends with you througout the whole 3 years...
To be able to put with me and all my quirks, faults and personality traits, and still accept me for all of it with a dash of salt and a big smile...I'm truly truly and utterly thankful.
Izza Binti Izelan,I am so going to miss you next semester.
Please do update your blog atleast once a week kay???Here's a list of my favorite Izza moments...Babe,hope you laugh out loud & rolling on the floor or shed a little tear while reading it...^_^

1.MMS week: Izza was late for it and I think she came on the 3rd day instead of being at the main campus with the rest of us since day one and she was carrying this big black LK bag and she looked really bewildered and with her short hair & braces...Turns out,her room was next to mine throughout the whole week...

2.Pre-degree part 1:Because of the fact that we're involve in debate,we manage to go to Perdana Discourse Series which was about education and met Tun Dr.Mahathir & his wife.Izza was all giddy about it(peminat setia la katakan) and she was wearing this powder blue suit that her mom gave to her..I think she had 2 options, but she chose the powder blue one...
And when we get there, it was such an amazing experience..To be able to hear Tun speak in person and greeting him and taking pictures with him..It was such an unforgettable experience...Plus we were put in groups with people who are much much older than we are from other universities and NGO'S and we had to speak up and do a presentation and it was soo cool and an eye opening experience..all at the age of 18!

3.Pre-degree Part 1: Me,Izza & Yam brought our big,big sunglasses to class and wanted to wear them at the faculty all day long....It was so funny but of course,we didn't do it but instead took a picture of the 3 of us wearing it at the faculty....

There are many more but since I'm sleepy and I'm going to a school with Ad tomorrow,I'll update it sometime tomorrow kay???

I wish I could

Wednesday, April 30, 2008 Liyana Hanim 2 Comments

I wish I was not the way I am...
I wish was much much cooler and calmer
Like Izza is...She's able to forget, very well..
As in forgive and forget
But I don't know why I find it hard to let go of things and still remember all the bad things that happened, all the betrayal, all the hurt
If I could forget,I would be much much happier and not as 'panas' all the time
But I am the way I am
I really really wish there was a way that I could be that way
Because it will be much easier for me to get along with others
Maybe it just need more time for me to be able to truly and completely forget what was done to me by others and forget what they did and be all cheery with them...
But right now I can't
I still hurts
And I don't expect you to understand...

I hate this feeling

Monday, April 28, 2008 Liyana Hanim 0 Comments

I hate that feeling...
That feeling that you wish....
aarrgghhh it's too personal to write here..I wish I could....: (

But this one I can blog about...

Today I woke up from a dream
A dream about someone that I have not seen in 2 years
Who's down under in OZ
I used to be so infatuated with him that I couldn't see straight
But that was back when I was still naive and stupid
But it was so vivid that I find myself puzzled
What does it all mean?

How can I pretend anymore?

Monday, April 28, 2008 Liyana Hanim 3 Comments

I can't pretend anymore.
I can't pretend that I like you.
When I really don't.
I can't pretend that I want you in my life
When I really don't.
I can't pretend to be nice.
I can't.

After all the hypocrite 'masks' of some people have been revealed to me and my friends,I fear that I might turn into one of them someday.Because of the things that I mentioned above.

I'm only human and although I try to be nice to everyone, there are some people that I wish were not even in my life.

So damn tired

Amount of sleep that I got since the last 39 hours= less than an hour

Today's paper was rough!!!
hahahaha
My friends and I were up studying at MCD from 10 pm till 5.30 am..
Many of my friends were studying at MCD too.
Hafriz,Izlin,Nazri,Niza,Firhan,Ella,Nad,Tajul,Arip & Joe...

Oh, a funny thing happen while we were there. It was around 4 am and Tatie came in to MCD (too many friends were there so some sit outside, some sit inside)
and told us that there were this group of guys who were dared by their friends,to go to MCD drivethrough while driving their car..
BACKWARDS!And they accept it!!!Hilarious!!!
So as me & my friends were queuing up to buy breakfast,
we saw the backwards White Viva(hey, that's my car's twin!!)
by the drivethrough window...as they passed..
I looked at them and lo and behold who it was if it wasn't a bunch of my rowdy debate friends..
Tariq who's the backwards driver,
Duta in the passenger seat & Aliff in the back..munching happily...
But the car was really getting close to the railings that Duta had to fold the rearview mirror in and at last,Tariq had to turn the car and stop the backwards thing...
They must be 'studying' like we were too...LOL.

This morning at 9 am, I was 'terhuyung-hayang' while answering the questions for my PTE finals...although I had a cup of coffee beside me( in styrofoam laaa,u think I would bring a big mug into the exam hall ker?) and sweets,it was hard to stay awake but I did manage to answer the questions though I'm sure there wasn't really much matter in it...Lol

Get out of the hall like 45 minutes earlier and sleep in the car..while waiting for Izza to finish..Tatie join me later..I slept like a baby in the back seat of my car..and woke up when Izza made a sharp turn to her house...hahahaha

When we arrived at her house, the 3 of us was really2 crazy as in talking and laughing crazy..Like some people forgot that today is Saturday, not Friday!...hahahaa
that's what being sleep deprived can do to you!!
Gonna take a well deserve sleep & update in a few days!!^_^

Friday, April 25, 2008 Liyana Hanim 3 Comments

Tomorrow morning is my Principle of Testing and Evaluation finals..But I seriously don't feel like studying...LOL.

Went to the Loreal Warehouse sale after goin to PK with Izza.It was my first time going & Izza's mum has been there before and heard that the bargain is great.
So of we went and of course we got lost but manage to find the place in the end!Yesss
There were many people but not as packed as we thought it would but parking was hard to find.

As I got in,I was in products heaven!!
Man it's seriously cheap okay?I saw my hair curler spray thingy goin for like rm15 jer...
And me and Izza didn't bring lots of cash.....uwaaaaaaaaaaaa
But I manage to buy some stuff but yeah, wish I could buy everything!
And to top it all of,today was the last day...

On the way back to SA,something scary happened.
Saw a motorcyclist dead on the road.
Like with blood gushing out on the road.
And the body was covered in black plastic and it was beside me...
Seriously felt like I was in a scene from Jangan Pandang Belakang...
Told Izza bout it but she didn't watch JPB so she didn't understand...
hahaha
But seriously,to my friends who ride the motorcycle, please be careful.
The person who hit him rode a car and I can't imagine how he must felt at that time..knowing he just accidentally killed someone.....scary!!!

Sometimes life can be a bitch but it all becomes bearable with good friends by your side who makes you happy when you're down. And who knows the real you.I'm really thankful that I have them in my life.

Last night I drove aimlessly with my 4 friends in the car after eating at 2 places and gossiping...hahaha
...As they were singing 'sumbangly' at the back,I was laughing my ass of at their 'keperasanan mcm artis'...muahahahah

Today, woke up pretty late...Suddenly was shocked when Ad asked me to go to Ulu Kelang and come back and had to go at that moment..
Of course la it was after 12 and me and my friends haven't even bathe yet...muahaha
So I was like give us an hour plz??
He was like,no!We have to go right now...
I was like,30 mins can?
Okay..But as all 3 of us have almost siap,he called saying xjd plaks...
Cos mr.tarzi dh amek kn the lcd at ulu kelang...huhuhu

So,went to lunch with the girls since the boys xbangun when we called em...hahah
(Kantoi bangun lmbt dr kiteorg!!!)

After lunch, suddenly I felt like going to Putrajaya
So of we went!!Ikimasho

Found the perfect place for our plan...hehehe

Went back to SA & head off to PK cos Izza had an appoinment
But when we went there, twas after office hours...kui2
So he already went home

As we head out of maincamp..Tatie was the one driving
There was this dude
On his bike
As Tatie drove out & was waiting behind other cars
To u-turn,
the dude with his stripe shirt,
waved at me
cos i was sitting at the passenger seat
and he wave with the brightest smile
and there were 2 of his friends on another bike
as they sped off to sect 7,he turn his face
and wave again
which made his friends on the other bike
playfully push him(tats dangerous!)
cos he was being silly
but he was awfully cute!
he made my day with his smile
two witness was in the car with me
and yeppp they agreed that he's cute...^_^

People sometimes amaze me

Thursday, April 24, 2008 Liyana Hanim 9 Comments

There are many type of people in this world
People of different belief
People of different ideologies
People of different races

But it's unfortunate that in this world
There are people who refused
To accept that everybody is different
And unique in their own way
Nobody is perfect
Except the Almighty
And who are we to judge others?

Unfortunately again,there are people
Who find pleasure
In dissing others
In bashing others

And there are others
Who use religion as an excuse
To 'advice' others
Because they 'care' about their friends
When in fact, they fail to look at their own faults
They fail to see that they too have made mistakes
But they aren't able to see it
Instead they find other people mistakes
And point it out for others to see
Who's the sinner here?

It's laughable
It's hilarious

I have no idea how these kind of people will survive
In the real world
A world outside of their group
A world where whether we want to or not,
You will be faced with people who are different than you
Who you may not agree with their beliefs or they way they lead their life

And I can't wait for that day to come...

This worries me..a lot!

Sunday, April 20, 2008 Liyana Hanim 10 Comments

My former lecturer,Pn.Marina once told me that,I always feel strongly about certain issues and it makes me able to write pages and pages on any article that I feel strongly about. This one article that I read last week stayed in my mind and I decided to put parts of it here and a short view on it from me...I feel helpless because I can't do anything to help them..Or can I?

This blog entry refers to the article that appeared on Thursday,17th of April in The Star newspaper titled "Iraq's war on women" by Nafia Abdul Jabbar and Marwa Sabah.

The article is about how the life of women in Iraq is much much worse than they were during the rule of dictator Saddam Hussein. It is very disturbing for me,a fellow muslim who is living well here in Malaysia reading about how the women living in Iraq are demanding for just this--->
'the right to live'.

According to the article...
"...women are subjected to verbal abuse on the streets if they are not wearing a hijab and in and in extreme cases, face being abducted by unknown gunmen, who sexually abuse and then kill them."

In the southern city of Basra,in the northern Kurdish area and in the capital of Baghdad, there have been numerous cases of so-called "honour killings".

"A UN report said police in Basra registered 44 cases in 2007 where women were killed with multiple gunshot wounds after being accused of committing "honour crimes".In Baghdad, the report said, several women teachers have been shot dead by armed men, some of them in front of their students."

A report by the US-based Women for Women International released last month said the state of Iraqi women has become a "national crisis" since the March 2003 US-led invasion.
"Present day Iraq is plagued by insecurity,a lack of infrastructure and controversial leadership, transforming the situation for women from one of relative autonomy and security before the war into a national crisis,"said the report.

"When asked why, respondents most commonly said that there is less respect for women's rights than before, that women are thought of a posessions, and that the economy has gotten worse,"it said. The report also found that 76% of the women interviewed said that girls in their families were forbidden from attending school.

Suad Mohammed,an employee in Adhamiyah municipality in northwestern Baghdad, carries a pistol in her handbag to defend herself because of the very fact that it is not safe anymore for Iraqi women to even go out of their own house.

Islam doesn't promote violence and especially violence against women. What is happening with the people in the world?Oppression against women in an Islamic country??And not just that, but shooting them dead???Am I not crazy for being very, very afraid? This is just extreme..It's unbelievable and horrible.

The situation in Iraq is getting worse by the day and to think that Bush thought that the situation there will become better after Saddam is gone..(yeah he was trying to get the oil and used terrorist and Saddam as an excuse)And now?Look what has happened? How can you sleep well knowing that because of your decision, innocent women are being killed on the streets?

One bad decision can affects millions of others....I pray for the safety of the women in Iraq though I know that it will take a very long time for things to actually get better there. Please can anybody tell me what is the solution for this very disturbing situation?Does anybody know how we can help them in anyway???

Home sweet home

Aaaaahhhh...what a relief...After more than a month of not going back home to Puncak Alam,I'm back here yesterday...

I miss my room,my tv and especially my super duper comfy bed!!!!hehehe
When I unlocked my bedroom door( it is always locked by me mum because I have 2 nosy younger brothers in the house...teehee),imagine my surprise when it's CLEAN & IMMACULATE...hahahaah

My room before this is a mountain of books, clothes & dvd's.Izza can vouch for that because she has sleepover before and she has many times told me that she wanted to 'decorate' my room which I think is a subtle way in telling her bestfriend that she needs to give it a makeover..hahaha

So imagine my amazement when after more than a month of not going home,I find that my room is spick and span...
Of course it was all thanks to my mum who cleaned it all up for me....hehehe.Thanks mama!!!I love you!!!!!
But she also throw away some of my old clothes(I'm a pack rat!) that she deemed were too crazy or whatever laaa....which I don't care pon since all of the current stuff that I wear is at my grandma's house where I live currently..
It's just great being up in my room, watching dvd's on MY tv,on MY bed after such a long time...
And after days of sleeping not more than 4 or 5 hours..today I woke up at precisely 1.30 pm after a looong doze to lala-land & took my lunch..hehehe.
It's great having parents who don't mind me waking up late...^_^

This goes to show how busy my life is this semester because even after 3 years of studying in uni,I always make a point to go back to my parents house atleast once every 2 weeks.
Actually I have more things to blog about..but I can't remember...

Just finished watching the Japanese dorama 'Operation Love' or in Japanese it's Proposal Daikusen' a few minutes ago & the last episode, where Kenzo-kun expresses his feelings during Rei's wedding made me cry after I haven't cried for weeks!!!Overall it was an okay dorama but I guess because the storyline is different than other dorama's & plus,I didn't really like the vague ending...Ja,mata kimasu!!

How are you good to yourself?

Friday, April 18, 2008 Liyana Hanim 0 Comments

Take this test!
Is the glass half empty? Not as far as you're concerned! So while others get down in the dumps, you know the best way to pamper yourself is with a big dose of optimism. Going for a walk with your dog, paying attention to your skin, or giving your body a break by reading a book — there are a million ways to spark a smile. That enthusiastic attitude really improves your life (not to mention the lives of people around you!), and makes every day something to look forward to.

That isn't to say you never have occasional down days. Nobody could smile their way through absolutely everything — not even you. You're just happier when you're taking care of number one (that's you!) while you're taking care of business, and you don't need a lavish lifestyle or fancy clothes to do it. Keep shining!

Looking from another person's perspective

Friday, April 18, 2008 Liyana Hanim 3 Comments

I had a talk recently with someone and it changed my perception on the whole dating thing.Ironically,he is a guy but it makes total sense when he explained it to me...I have had friends who lives for the dating game and it makes me sick sometimes..But maybe it's because I fail to see it from their perspective...So after the talk a few days back,it made me rethink the perceptions that I had toward some people.I'm beginning to see it in a different manner altogether...

It is okay to date many guys if you have told them beforehand that you have no intention of getting into anything serious nor you want to have a relationship with any of them.If the guy fails to understand that, then it's not your fault right?I mean, when you think about it...you are not married, you are young and life is too short..So what is wrong with having many options right? But I hope that for others who are playing the field please don't lead people on,as in making them think that you want something more when you clearly don't inside..get it?

Play safe people!! ; )

P/S:Just to annoy Moja---KJ as in Khairy Jamaluddin is still hot to me!!hehehe

My dream job will be.............

Thursday, April 17, 2008 Liyana Hanim 4 Comments

I think I might have found my dream job.I always thought that I wanted to become an editor for a fashion magazine that I would create for Malaysia because most of Malaysia's fashion magazine's are crappy.Or I would become a journalist or a writer/author.But then I just realize. My dream job would be a beauty editor.I guess that is why I love reading Teen Vogue's Beauty Editor blog so much. Her job is so cool! She gets to try so many different beauty products before it hit the market.

And believe me,I have many, many beauty products from various brands. My skincare regime consist of 5 different skincare brand.Seriously.I use Neutrogena for my facial wash.Loreal for my toner and sunscreen.Olay for my day and night cream. And Garnier for my eye cream.Lastly,I use Healing Gamat for the occasional zit.Don't even get me started on how many hair products I have..At last count I think I have more than 10...ooopss.Currently I'm using 2 shampoos( Tresemme Salon Silk and Redken Smooth Down) and I alternate according to days...and I've read that you need to switch your shampoos because your hair will get so used to it after awhile and it will not work wonders no more!Yeah,a lil bit excessive.I just love buying beauty products laaa!!!hehehe. Also you should see my huge make-up bag..teehee.My friends love asking me to make them up for events & I love doing so!hehehe

The most I have spend at Watson on products was RM200++.And my mum paid for it of course and I felt guilty for awhile, but as soon as I got home and got to try the products...the guilt goes whoosh...out of the window!

Just awhile ago,I went to Bodyshop and bought the Lip & Cheek stain( I didn't ask for a bag!!Yeay saving the environment little by little) and then I went to Watson with my girls after dinner and bought St.ives Apricot scrub and Clay firming mask...so now I have a total of 6 brands for my skincare...BUT,I bought it using the money that I got working with Ad!So proud of myself because I manage to NOT ask extra money from my parents for a few weeks and I have started buying beauty products using the money that I earn(I don't take PTPTN& my scholar money under Yayasan S'gor was used to pay for my car's downpayment..).I saw so many new things at Watson that I want to buy!!As I read the list of products that I want to buy soon, to Izza, she was like "Banyaknya!"...But I was like...it's fun trying all the products..and it hit me at that time...that I should become a Beauty Editor!!

Okay this is totally bimbz of me but I want to!!!
Here's the list of beauty products that I want to buy soon:

1.Binari Lulur scrub(the one that contains rice I think)
2.Maybelline Angelfit foundation( tried it & it's so light)
3.Maybelline Unstoppable mascara(I'm loyal to Sky High Curves since form 4 but it's time to switch it up!)
4.This cucumber looking eye pad..dun remember the brand
5.The new Elseve gloss spray
6.Loreal Fix &Shine hairspray(mine dh habis!!)
7.Rosken Dry Cream(so so good for your skin!Mine dh habis gakssss)

And so many more but I don't want to look more bimbz here...hehehehe
Don't want to take Izza's Bimbz crown(which was given by the gr8 Herbert!)...LOL!!!

After many attempts of trying to watch 27 dresses,I finally was able to watch the anticipated movie yesterday!hehehe. And although me and my friends got in like 20 mins through the movie,it was worth it!!!I heart James Marsden..hehehe

I am still trying to find the 'hikmah' in the movie because after many failed attempts to watch it I was like, there must be a sign somewhere in the movie for me...hehehe.Whatever it is,I'm glad I was finally able to watch it...

And I was so glad that I got to hang out with Hani,Hanna & Napz yesterday, after haven't been doing so in a long time..Everybody is so busy all the time..But wish Mak(Farhana) could have join us too.Izza joined us too and we went to Sunway(how many times last week have I been there? But I still haven't finish exploring the new wing..hehehe) and then to Bukit Raja for the movie(thankfully I booked at both Sunway and Bukit Raja..just in case we lost track of time...hehehe)

Oh,on that same day,I found my wallet which I had lost a few days ago(on Thursday to be exact).Thank you so much for the good samaritan who found it near the parking lot(I must have accidentally drop it out of my car) and gave it to the pakguard.I had already made a police report on Friday because I searched all over the house for it(I thought I had left it at home) and was feeling hopeless. But on Monday after I went to a school in Damansara with Ad, he told me to ask the pakguard because it might be with them if anyone find them. And yes,he was right! Thanks bro!!

I was so glad that I jumped with joy.The money in it was so little but the most important thing was my MyKad,my driving license,3 ATM cards and an old picture of my parents.Sigh.I am so so so thankful to whoever that good samaritan was!!!!

Now it's study leave but yeah I haven't crack open the books yet..hehehe.Been working at schools with Ad and eating unhealthily. My diet lately consists of Subway,J Co & Mc D....So need to get back on track with eating healthily!!!And start doing Pilates again after more than a month of not doing it...hehehe..Or any form of exercise for that matter...damn!Getting chubbier by the minute and seconds..

People who doesn't like to try different kind of hair products..don't read this:

I have been loyal to Pantene and Redken hair products but now I have discovered Tresseme Salon Silk and it is absolutely fabulous! But I have to admit that it still can't beat Redken's Smooth Down.Although Tresseme is much cheaper than Redken...a bottle of Redken Smooth Down that my mum bought for me was RM55 a bottle while Tresseme that I bought with my money was only RM15!

P/S:It's proven that KJ(Khairy Jamaludin) is HOT!Although people claim he is devious and even if he is,he's till HOT!!!!Me,Izza & Tatie agrees to it completely......hehehehe.

Kate Voegele

Monday, April 14, 2008 Liyana Hanim 0 Comments

I love Kate!!She plays Mia in One Tree Hill season 5.And her songs rocks!!Here are some of my favorites...

Wish you were here

Gone away are the golden days
Just a page in my diary
So here I am, a utopian citizen
Still convinced there's no such thing as idealism

Memories they're following me like a shadow now
And I'm dreaming
And I've already suffered the fever of disbelief

I've seen your act
And I know all the facts
I'm still in love with who I wish you were
It ain't hard to see
Who you are underneath
I'm still in love with who I wish you were
And I wish you were here

I was true as the sky is blue
I couldn't soon say the same for you
So now I find denial in my eyes
I'm mesmerized by the picture that's in my mind

Tell me when I'll finally see your shallow heart
For what it is
Cause I don't want to keep on believing in illusions

[Chorus]

Sometimes I can't explain
And I'm so sorry that I can't
I'll try to concentrate
On your true identity

It's Only Life

Tears are forming in your eyes
A storm is warning in the sky

The end of the world it seems
You bend down and you fall on your knees
Well get back on your feet yeah

Don't look away
Don't run away
Hey baby it's only life
Don't lose your faith
Don't run away
Hey baby its only life
Yea it's only life

You were always playing hard
Never could let down your guard

But you can't win
If you never give in
To that voice within
Saying pick up your chin
Baby let go of it

[Chorus]

Take your hesitance
And your self-defense
Leave them behind, it's only life
Don't be so afraid
Of facing everyday
Just take your time, it's only life
I'll be your stepping-stone
No, don't be so alone
Just hold on tight, it's only life

[Chorus]

Random things about me

1.I can only sew by hand.Because I don't know how to operate the sewing maching & plus, actually,I'm scared of it.When I was a little girl,I watched my grandma using it and it was going so fast that I wonder if her fingers might get sewn together one day while sewing...hehehe

2.I wish I had bigger boobs & smaller hips...I used to be all against plastic surgery when I was a naive high school student who had no body issues whatsoever. But as you meet many people who are more well endowed than you,you start to feel inadequate with the proportion of your body...Since plastic surgery is so damn expensive and it's haram, this is just a thought laaa..It's not like I'm gonna get new boobs or anything!

3.I can't stand the smell of jeruk and of course I don't eat any of them or be near them!Ewww....I seriously don't like them. But I'll draw the line at my family's homemade pickled mango's,buah salak & cucumber pickles(yummy on sandwiches & burgers!!urpppp).

4.I drive a whole lot better when I'm angry...hahaha.The fastest I have driven my trusty Viva on the road is 130.

5.Cooking is one of my favorite hobbies and I'm good at it.No joke. And baking too!I can list down almost 50+ dishes comprising of Malay,Italian,Thai dishes that I can cook....Thanks to the influence of my maternal grandma since I was a kid.

6.I love going to the library at night when I'm free.Because there's nobody there and I can roam freely and being surrounded by so many great books to read is calming.I guess that's why ever since I was little,I have this fantasy of being accidentally locked up in MPH after the mall closes and I get to read the books in it for days..Memangla takkan jadi kenyataan!hahaah

7.I have a big sweet tooth...hehe.There's so many desserts/candies that I wish were available in Malaysia.I tried to find a candy thermometer(for controlling the temperature when boiling sugar) in stores but still zero results so I can't make my own candies...yet!!!Candies that I wish was in Malaysia are:

salt water taffy
candy corn
toffee apples
sticky toffee pudding
maple candy

8.My mom's side is Arab.My great grandfather's name is Sheikh Al-Radzi(Al-Radzi is our family name).I have Arab relatives who have their own private jet, hotels and a hospital in Taif.My Arab cousins, once came down here using their private jet okay! But I haven't seen them in God knows how long..And their Malaysian relatives are living not so wealthy here!!!sob sob sob.Oh yeah, there's been a loooong dispute over the distribution of 'harta' among our families and due to the fact that my grandpa has long past away and they're way over in Taif, they somehow manage to use our part of the money(which is a lot & the lawyers are currently handling it but it's been years kot!!) for their own benefits!Tak fair!!!!I could be living far more comfortably than I am right now if not for some of my greedy Arab uncles!!

I miss adjudicating!!!!!!!

Thursday, April 10, 2008 Liyana Hanim 0 Comments

On the 15-16 of March,UiTM held the National Novice Debate Tournament and I wasn't able to adjudicate or helped out because I was involve with some activities at my faculty on those 2 days...But when I read this e-mail,it makes me miss adjudicating so bad!!You guys are mean for making me miss it by sending me this e-mail... : (
Oh,poor Fareez for that POI thing..wish I was there to see the look on his face..hahaha.

Presenting the most jar-dropping, heart-pounding, knee-jerking,
breath-taking statements of the National Novice Debate Tournament 2008
organized by UT MARA from the 15-16 March.

No exaggeration, No lies, just plain truth.

Caution : May induce constant forehead-slapping. ..

Motion : THW allow the use of performance- enhancing drugs in sports.

Govt : "This debate is about whether or not we would allow athletes to
take aspirin the night before a tournament to cure headache."
Rebuttal: headache only? fever?? period pain?? genital herpes?! - they
are not inclusive and discriminate against different sickness...

2. Motion : THW ban zoos.

Govt : "We should ban zoos because humans think. Animals don't!" (and.....?)

Govt : "We would only ban BAD zoos." (the yardstick for bad is: The
price, The smell, The cage, and the number of endangered animals)

3. Motion : THW include the 3rd-world countries in the fight
against Global Warming.

Opp : "We want to preserve Global Warming!" (We do?!!")

4. Motion : THW allow the use of torture on terrorists.

Opp: "Why would you want to torture terrorists? Do you want them to go crazy?"

Govt : "How can you say that all the crazy people are terrorists? Have
you SEEN any crazy terrorists?" (This is exactly the point where
ADJUDICATORS go crazy.)

Opp : "We would not torture terrorists, but we would put them in
counselling and advise them. Also, we would show them the pictures of
their families, and ask if they really love them..." (Hmmm...Terrorist
Anonymous... .very original, indeed!)

Govt : "We would use the truth serum on terrorists. What exactly is
the truth serum? It is a substance that will make the terrorists
subconciously confess." (Oh, we usually call it booze.)

6. THW abolish all race-based affirmative action in Malaysia.

Opp : "There is very limited rights to be given out. If we give the
rights to the Indians, what about the

Malays?" (Basic economic principle, guys)

Opp : "When your parents fall in love, they get married and go on a
honeymoon. There, they will have sex. In the process, the sperms will
race to get the ovum. But only one sperm will succeed, which is the
strongest sperm. So it deserves the ovum."

(Translation : Only the best race deserves affirmative action...
Thanks for the details, though!)

Opp : "The Chinese and the Tamil must understand the priviliges that
the Malays enjoy." (uhh...Tamil is a LANGUAGE, Aerie...Opps, no names,
my bad!)

...Randomest TM Statements.. .

Govt : "The Government of Malaysia is stupid."

Opp : "How can you say the Government is stupid? You ARE the
Government!! " (Yeah, like DUH!)

Govt : "Nothing in the world is free. You even have to pay 20 cents to
pee." (The most logical analogy...and hey, it rhymes too..)

Qayser : POI!

Opp : Sit down, sir. I know you're good looking.

Aerie : POI!

Opp : You too, sir. I know you're good looking, too.

Fareez Shah : POI!

Opp : Please sit dowm.

Fareez Shah : Mr speaker, let me state how disappointed i am that the
opposition failed to recognize the other good looking man in this
room.

Opp : "We as the opposition today will ACTUALLY oppose the motion."
(REALLY...?? )

Opp : POI!

Govt : Sit down.

Opp : Shame!

Govt : Shame on you too cuz you are like a child who's mumbling
through his POI! (oooh...personal)

Just a thought

Today got me thinking about how unreliable and irresponsible some people can be at times.
I loathe people who goes 'woe is me and my life'and blaming everything on circumstances. You can decide whether to make your life better or not because there is always a way to solve every problems and that depends on how hard you look for it instead of sitting on your ass and hoping that a fucking miracle will come and save you.

Wake up and smell the coffee! This is life kot!Nothing is perfect and you're suppose to live in the NOW!Not dwelling in the past, living in fear of making mistakes(oh btw, people make mistakes everyday!!!It's how you learn from the mistakes that makes you stronger and wiser...duh!!!),stop using your past bad memories as an excuse to stop you from moving forward. You think that life is hard for you?Hello, there are millions of other people out there who wish that they can have the family and friends that you have and they'll even be thankful if they have a roof above their head as shelter..

Please be more responsible and stop, just stop creating more problems for yourself.Take responsibility for the mistakes that you make, fix it before it's too late, own up to it because I don't know what I should do to help you and God knows,it's so hard to reach you that I'm thinking of giving up on you once and for all.

What a fraud!!!!

Thursday, April 10, 2008 Liyana Hanim 1 Comments

I love reading other people's blog entry.I get great advice, words of wisdom, funny stories,not-so funny stories, ogle at other's fortune and many more.So last night(yes, this is a late blog entry, pardon me as I have been very busy lately),as I was relaxing while catching up on the cyberspace,I come upon a blog entry on a friend of a friend's blog.

It was about how Natasha Hudson's book of poetry(alah, yang name Pari-pari ape ntah tuu),consist of basically, poems that were written by other poets and she just translated them straight into Bahasa Melayu and claiming that she wrote it when she was a little girl.So I was intrigue by the speculation and started to search on Yahoo.I typed 'Natasha Hudson plagiarize poems'.And I clicked on the first blog that was listed on the list.

As I clicked on it,lo and behold,it was a sister of one of my senior's blog. What a small world...So I kept on reading about it and there was even a comment by Ms.Fraud(Natasha Hudson)herself stating that she did not plagiarize the poems and that it was a coincidence.Coincidence my ass!If you read her poems and the original poems it was basically a direct translation(to Tesl students mesti tau ini term!).Meaning that there's no fucking way that it was a coincidence because she translated it word for word. You think Malaysian's don't read poems ah?

Plagiarize is so wrong and it's even worse when you're making money out of it by turning it into a book!Something needs to be done...Bloggers,rejoice and blog about this.Hopefully some kind of legal action will be taken towards her. Here's some of her 'poems' and the original ones are under it...For more info about her whole fraud, read Jannah's blog entry at...

Food for thought

Sunday, April 06, 2008 Liyana Hanim 8 Comments

Although I have mountains of assignments & a test to study for and a Japanese oral test & my tenpin test all this upcoming week..I still make a point to update my blog..It's just a promise I make to myself..Because I rarely write nowadays so atleast I do blog..I don't want my writing to sux ass if I don't practice it..

Here it goes..
I can never stress time and time again how matters of the heart is something that should not be taken lightly.
Maksudnya, tentang hati dan perasaan bukanlah sesuatu yang harus di ambil mudah..

I despise and am annoyed with people who like to play with others feelings and treat love like it's a game.I've seen people do it with no shame. To them it's something that is okay...
Those kind of people along with cheaters, fakers and all the baddies are on the bottomless bottom of my list of people that I wish can get out of my life forever.

This is just what I observe from a friend who likes to do so.Don't you realize that someday, someone that you really like might do the same to you? You'll be hurt so bad but then that person that you like will turn around and say,oh but I thought that we're only friends? How would you feel? Please think wisely...You can't just go out with someone and don't expect that person to don't think that it will probably lead to somewhere..that is just plain selfish and stupid.

I might be cruel, but when I don't like someone,I don't lead them on.Period.I don't reply their messages nor do I return their calls. That's just me.I see no fucking point in 'playing' along when I have no intention for it to lead somewhere.I see no point in wanting many guys to 'surround' me all the time. When I like a guy,I'll only like him & pay my attention to him only. Also,I never message a guy first. If he wants to message me,he'll find a way to get my number and do so.I don't just give my numbers to any Tom,Dick and Harry.I don't message them, they message me.Get it?

In matters of the heart, the person that loves/likes you are basically giving them your heart and hoping that you'll take it in the palm of your hands and don't break it.Unfortunately, there are people out there who does give love a bad name. And unfortunately, they're in my life. That's just sucks.Oh,and this person is the same gender as me...Mmg memalukan...

My favorite fashion/lifestyle magazine in the world

Saturday, April 05, 2008 Liyana Hanim 0 Comments

My utmost favorite fashion magazine in this whole wide world is InStyle magazine. And get this,I have been buying it since I was in form 3 back when it was RM 25 per magazine(now it's RM 18.50).

I just love everything about the magazine. The layout, the content, the interviews, the pictures and even the adverts are just perfect.Sadly, there is no fashion/lifestyle magazine in Malaysia that can compare to it even the slightest.Although there is one or two okay fashion magazines in Malaysia, their content, the things that they display in it can't be afforded by every women in Malaysia.

I can never resist buying the magazine whenever I go to the bookstore.Never!!hehehe.I savour every page of the magazine when I buy it and right now am still perusing the April 2008 issue. It's worth every cent.

An enriching experience

Thursday, April 03, 2008 Liyana Hanim 2 Comments

Today was a very enriching day for me.I got to helped out my super senior Adlan, with Knowledge Discovery which is under Staedtler. It was a reminiscence of sort when I went to the 2 schools today because it has been a long time since I set foot on a primary school. It was so much fun seeing the reaction on the kid's faces during Ad's presentation on how pencil's are made and how eager all of them was while they were answering the questions to get the prizes that Staedtler has provided for them. They are all so cute!!!I just love little kids.Feels like I want to pinch each and everyone's cheek.

The first school, which shall remain nameless, had very the 'garang' male teachers because when the kids were getting into the hall, all 3 of the male teachers was being all dictator like to the boys..I was saying to myself like, why are they being so hard on them? They are only kids.Right? But, halfway through Ad's presentation and when they were being so noisy in wanting to answer the questions that were given,I was like...maybe the teacher's wasn't being to 'Hitler' like. But still, putting a boy in a corner was harsh to me.I guess I'm just a big softie.

After all the presentation, and the Q & A session, this 2 boys were helping out the teacher to pack up the LCD and stuff. They are bestfriends & I can tell because throughout Ad's presentation, they were sitting next to each other and the other friend was sad that his friend manage to get picked by Ad to answer one of the questions and got a prize. And adding salt to the wound(ceh...hehehe),his friend class, won during the question session whereby students can discuss with their classmates to get the best possible answer. So he didn't get anything while his friend got 2 prizes. As both of them were sitting on the stage, waiting for Ad,me & Izza to pack things up so that they can clear the table & chairs...I picked one of the extra prizes & gave one to him.Because, he is a good boy, helping out and everything and my heart just can't take it seeing him sitting next to his friend who is all happy with his prizes.Plus, both of them looked so cute.Like a commercial of 2 guy bestfriends. And the fact that both of them are not from the same class...comel la!!!hehe.Yeah,I love kids..Can't you tell?

Today Izza said this one liner out of the blue to me when we were at the second school, " Somehow I picture you as becoming a ballerina teacher...Because you're all proper and la la la...".Yup,she meant that I can be too sugarplum fairy-like-everything is right in the world, positive things yada2...hahaha.But you know,I do worry about a certain someone...though that person doesn't know so.Something that was revealed to me,today about that person's life that just made me wish that I had known about it from him instead of other people. But everyone has their pride right?

Malas tapi memeningkan....

Sometimes you just can't figure out a person although you have tried too..many many times over the course of a few years. You debated about it with your friends every semester, they are puzzled too,you try your best to figure it out...but in the end, you're like...mampus laa.Malas nak pikir. But sometimes you can't help but go..why do that person act like that?Perlu ker??

Why the need to garner so much attention? So desperate like okay....The word that I'll use to describe that person is shady & gatal.Seriously gatal...huhuhu.Why can't you just be yourself?Your fine the way you are.Tak payah nak fake2 like what you are doing now.Being all...euugghhhh.Mengelikan okay!

What is the purpose of April Fool anyway???

Here's the link that kind of explain about it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/April_Fool's_Day

The award of the biggest prankster this year goes to Freaky(or his real name is Firdaus Putra).
It's not funny boy to scare me that way!!!
This morning as I got out of the shower,I received this message from him stating that Firdaus Putra Ariffin has passed away around 10 pm last night...mestila I dengan mamai & blurnyer terkejut & panik!!
I was like, why only now did his housemates tell me about it?Cos I know them and I started to almost hyperventilate, nak nangis semua...
I was like, okay, try calling his cell cause I asssumed that his housemate was the one sending the message to everyone to inform of his 'death'.I calmed myself down and a thousand thoughts was running through my head....

So I called his cell and lo and behold,he answered. That's when I remembered that today is the 1st of April!!!!He was laughing and I was like..thanks!!!
Siottttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt!!!
What the heck is that joke?Staging your own death?Nasib jantung tak lemah. If not sure I heart attack nyer!
