2012 is here!

Hey everyone!How did you spend your new years??Me?The picture below describe it best..haha.Me & the boyfriend Skype until wee hours in the morning because he was completing his model(the one he's holding).

Below are 2 pictures of my wrecked car.Thankfully the verdict is out from the police's investigation and the person at fault has to pay for the damage from her insurance.So now I still have to wait for my car to be fixed.

From all that has happened,I am VERY THANKFUL for the people in my life who are willing to help me out in my time of need.It's hard for me to go places now because my parents house are far from any public transportation and having a car helps a lot to go to work and going out.

But thankfully,my dad has been sending me to work every morning so I have to wake up like 5.45 am EVERYDAY until my car is fixed because my dad's office is about 1 hour a few mins from home.So he has to drop me off before he goes to KLIA.I managed to change my work schedule with a lot of my friends so that I can work at 7am almost everyday to be able to have my dad send me to work.

My super duper awesome boyfriend picks me up after work(cos my dad goes back way later than me) so I'm very thankful for that as well.It's great to know that I can count on the men in my life.:)

Yummy choc chip cookies!
I baked 500 pieces of choc chip cookies for one of my senior's at work brother's wedding and it was the biggest one shot order I ever had.I've baked more cookies for Raya orders but that was huge single order.And the funny thing was I had to bake all of them while having to handle being mugged and also involving in a car accident a day before the order was due.Yes super me!:P

Yesterday I went to a wedding of one of my super senior in uni days,Azam & Baby(farhana).Both of them are TESLians & I am so happy for them both.Especially Azam because me & my bestie Izza who knows him,knows how it took him a long time to find someone like Baby.

The food at the wedding was SO GOOD!Nasi minyak,daging briyani & ayam masak merah(didn't get a pic cos I was so hungry!)was super sedappp..The wedding cake was good as well..nomnomnom..haha.I only managed to snap a pic of the SECOND slice of wedding cake--me,izza & our friends ate one slice & went for more!haha

It wouldn't be a blog entry without me posting about something on food!:P

2 of my fave dishes from my mum are her prawn + corn fritters & also ikan belah belakang(which my late Kedahan grandma who always make them for me calls it) or ikan jaket as most Malaysians knows it.Had both of them sometime this week!The fritters are a fave of our family for tea time.They're very crispy and delicious filled with prawns,corn,spring onions & onions!I always dip them with thai chilli sauce.

The ikan belah belakang or stuffed fish in english are fish(my grandma usually makes them using ikan cencaru but I prefer ikan kembung cos they're smaller & easier to eat!) stuffed with a mixture of onions in sambal or coconut.My family never uses coconut,only the onions.

Years ago,ever since I was a kid,my late maternal grandma who hails from Alor Setar would make them for me & I ate it with a gusto so she'll always make them for me.I am very thankful that my mother mastered the dish very well so I can eat them whenever I want!They taste so good with rice!

My 2 favorite new tv series(among the many others that I am watching) are Revenge and American Horror Story.

Revenge is about Emily Thorne or her real name Amanda Clarke who's bent on getting her revenge on the people who ruined her life by framing her late father and making the world believed that he was a criminal.The storyline is quite clever and I felt really sorry for Emily/Amanda because she has no one--no family member at all and her focus is only on getting revenge for her dad.


American Horror Story is so sick and disturbing!The boyfriend downloaded them & I watched it with him cos I was scared to watch it alone!haha.I only managed to watch until episode 5 but even then I was like..will things become more disturbing than it already is?It boggles my mind because the brain behind the series is the same people behind the bright and bubbly GLEE!

The character Tate is so disturbing because I was so smart to actually look the series up on the net so I kinda know what will happen soon.The boyfriend really pity Ben though at first I was like 'cheating bastard'!haha But then as the storyline grew,I do feel sorry for him.

That house is not a good place to live in!The series has many graphic scenes--masturbation,blood and gore and lots more so even if it is aired here,they'll probably cut out a LOT of the scenes.It's better that you download them!

Coffee before the sunrises

Been super busy with work,not much time for anything else nowadays!Been waking up early each day now..atleast for these 2 weeks..My elixir of choice is shown in the picture below..
*Caramel Latte(sooo good!) and Mocha(the chocolate adds more bitterness)*
I loveee the cup..gonna buy the tumbler soon!:P

I buy them hot,a day before(we do have a drivethru Starbucks about 25 mins from here!) and then put them in the fridge so I can just take one to work in the morning..ahhhh a sip in the early morning when the sun isn't up yet is just bliss for me!

And if you are an American Express cardholder like me,you can get any 1 Starbucks handcrafted drinks for free when you charge 1 on your card.Sweet!The deals end by Oct 2011.So if you don't have a card,go and apply for one!:)

"I don't like coffee..I only drink it when my mum makes it or Starbucks,because you converted me to it.."..-The boyfriend,the not-so-lover of coffee..;P

I have stayed at 3 different hotels in Port Dickson before..

1)The Regency: a family fave & been there many many times..love their childrens room as a kid..the books were awesome & they have a snack bar by the beach..loved eating hotdog there with the smell of the sea & the wind in my hair with my cousins.They have
movie nights by the pool years ago & I don’t know if the hotel still exist or not..haha

2)Delta Paradise Resort or now known as Corus Hotel
We’ve stayed there 2 times & I remembered how pretty the delta wa
s.Other than that,not so memorable to me.

3)Costa Rica Apartments
We went there years ago & back then it had just opened so everything was okay.But now I heard so many bad reviews about it!

Oh,staying in hotels aren’t unusual because I have a mum who loves staying there and if I have to list all of them,it would be a very long one.I remembered back when we live in Penang for 2 years,every weekend my family would stay at a different hotel.

I guess it is because of the ambiance and the amenities and the vacation spirit of it that makes staying in a hotel so appealing to us.Fun fact:My boyfriend's dad used to evaluate the hotels in Malaysia & rank them so he has been exposed to fine dining & staying in hotels much more than I have!Cool!

But I have to say,hands down,the best in PD now is of course The Legend International Water Homes.It is next to The Legend Water Chalet..although it is under the same company,the rooms are totally different because Water Homes have a swimming pool in EACH room!

I actually stumbled upon this hotel while I was googling on places to stay in PD a few weeks back & read rave reviews about this place on numerous blog.It daunted on me that bloggers certainly have the power to influence other people and boost a person’s business.

I told one of my bestie,Izza about it & she decided that we should invite our other girlfriends to make it more enjoyable since heck,we’ll have our own pool!

So after a few planning with the girls,I booked the room over the net,we were on our way!

When we arrived,I can see that they are still in the midst of more renovation and adding more rooms or ‘water homes’.They had buggy cars to carry us to our room which was fun!The staff was attentive & courteous.

As I was about to swipe the key,I was nervous because I didn’t want to disappoint my friends just in case the rooms could be subpar to what I saw on the net & I was the one who suggested this place to them..but boy did the 5 star hotel surpass our expectation!
*The girls hopped into d bed when we arrived--it was sooo comfy!*

The room was AWESOME!Huge beds,lcd tv,the big pool,and many many more cool stuffs.Even the toiletries was from Aigner & Crabtree & Evelyn!
There were some downside though like a few malfunctioning amenities in the room(the exercise bicycle,the lamp outside near the pool), but I’ll overlook that since they’ve only been operating for 1 year.
*We spend time in the room & in the pool throughout the stay!haha*

But people,if you have money to splurge,stay and enjoy the luxury.We didn’t even went to the beach AT ALL during our stay & just chill in our room & in the pool.There’s free wifi in the room as well.
*Tomyam campur & kailan ikan masin at this seafood place somewhere in PD*

Oh,eat out for dinner--seafood/food is cheap outside—tomyam campur,ikan 3 rasa,telur bifstik x2 & kalian ikan masin with 4 kinds of fruit juices was only rm61 for 4 ppl.
*Baked beans,fluffy pancakes(I had 4 of these!) w maple syrup,beef bacon,sausage,sauteed mushroom & potatoes*

But the free buffet breakfast at the hotel is good.Imagine that there were so many people staying there that they had to do 2 buffet breakfast,one downstairs in the restaurant & the other in the ballroom!
*Was hungry when I arrived at d place & had to order this Nasi Goreng 1 Malaysia frm the room service menu which cost me rm29..a bit bland..didn't finish it!*

Though the ala carte menu was disappointing because everything was transplant from the room service menu.There is a Japanese restaurant though but didn’t get to see that.

When we went there,the parking lot was FILLED with cars from Singapore—no joke!I guess they heard rave reviews about the place as well.:)

If I have the money,I want to go there again and also there’s a couples package which cost around rm1100 that I hope I can get for my parents 25th anniversary this coming July!

I've blogged about wanting to go on a vacation at International Water Homes twice this month and today I managed to actually go there along with 3 of my other girlfriends!Weeeee!

The time of the month

It's the time of the month and I hate it!!Urghhhhh..I hate the pain in my stomach and it hurts so bad and all I want to do is lay in bed with socks on,because my body also becomes very sensitive to anything cold--no cold drinks,no aircon on.

Just stay strong & bear with it until it's over I guess.The boyfriend is so sweet cos' he can't do anything to ease the pain though I've asked him if he wants to switch bodies..ahahaha.:P

UPDATES..

Only one more episode to watch from the 3rd season of The Rachel Zoe show.Loves it!

On the 8th was my mum's 48th birthday..both she and my dad turned 48 this year!Nothing fancy,just that I plotted my annual leave months ago so that I can take her out on her birthday & not work(annual leave has to be plotted atleast 2 months in advance at my workplace).And tomorrow is my boyfriend's mum's birthday as well!Both of us were raised by Aries mum's.:)

Planning on going a little trip with some of my girlfriends..we need a vacation people!Hopefully we'll be able to do so..

Planning on a shopping trip with 2 of my workmates cos' for the first time ever,all 3 of us are having our off day on the same day(we don't work the normal working hours,hence different off day!)!

Saw a beautiful ruby ring that's just utterly perfect for me and I'm hoping that I'll be able to buy it when I get my pay soon!Please please stay there for me!haha

Badly in need of a vacation!



The last time I had a real vacation was June 2010.How sad is that?Thus I have decided that soon or for my 24th birthday which falls on the 25th of June(ehemmm),I will treat myself to a vacation in Port Dickson..bwahaha.

But before you go like, "whatttt PD je kot?"Take a look at this superb hotel that I have been eyeing a few hours ago.The villas has their own POOL--YOUR OWN FREAKING POOL IN YOUR OWN ROOM!How cool is that?

A cost of 1 night stay for the deluxe pool villa with free for 2 buffet breakfast is only rm450!That is veryyyy reasonable since a water chalet at Avilion does not has its own pool!

I want to stay in the Deluxe Pool Villa so badly that I googled other people's review about the room & they have only nice things to say.The room has fast internet access,lots of Astro channels,the buffet breakfast is excellent.Thus,when I will turn 24 soon,I will head over there and R-E-L-A-X!Yeahhhh!

Happy Sunday!

Yeah yeah I change my blog header...it's a combination of pictures that I like...:)

Yesterday,I didn't sleep for more than 20 hours...almost an entire day!And I survive!!Reasons being was that on Friday nite I went to the office & started work from 11pm-7.45 am & usually afterwards,I'll go home & sleep until late afternoon.

But my juniors/friends are having this awesome seminar with cool speakers ranging from Jezmine Blossom(the one with a boutique where most of my clothes come from),Hana Tajima,Fynn Jamal(the most awesome & honest live performer!) and 2 others & was held at UiTM's UIC.

For their last semester,TESLians have to create a seminar for their Professional Development course..which is cool because after the course,we'll know how to throw one,professionally..hehe..

So I went& manage to stay awake, thanks to constant conversation, Grapefruit flavored Gatorade & food & the fact that Izza was the one who drove in her car.

The seminar was very empowering because of the speakers & they shared their experiences & what does it take to become successful.I was very touched during Fynn's speech particularly when she explained the meaning behind the song Sampai Tua..Almost everyone shed a tear or felt something when she sang it live to us.Below is a vid of the song which she sung last year..


I really admire her because I feel that whatever she is singing/performing on stage is very honest and you can feel her emotions and she connects with her audience which is very powerful.She does it(singing poetry)because it's her passion & she's also an English graduate& used to be a lecturer but then she choose a path that makes her happy.

After the seminar went to Empire with Izza cos she wanted to buy a pair of Maysaa pants from Hana but then when she did went,decided it wasn't for her.Had a bite at Serai Empire & I ordered the pistachio creme brulee(good & there's lotsss of pistachio!) though the pavlova looks tempting but I didn't order it since I can make one at home!hahaha

Then Izza drop me off at grandma's where I left my car & I drove back home while talking with the boyfriend(using hands free of course!) so that he could keep me awake through the whole 30++mins journey.hehe.

When I got back home,talk some more with him..even when he was having his dinner(sort of me being there to teman him..ahahah..ahhh LDR!!!) & then I slept for hoursssssssss..

Pilates--watch this space!

Being in love,being happy,having a job that requires me to sit at the desk & stare at the monitor for hours..all of this made me have a very healthy appetite..not that I didn't have one to begin with but now it's even more so.hahah.

Soooo..made a pact with the significant other that if he can quit smoking,then I'll stick to my diet!Thus,let's begin again with pilates.A very great workout for the body though it's not for someone who's not flexible(I'd like to think I am..wait,I KNOW I am!haha) & faint hearted.

The workout centers around your core--your abs(in my case,mostly flab nowadays!damness!) & works the whole body.My body hurt after I did a session yesterday since I haven't done so in months!It hurts even when I sneeze or laugh!

But it's a very good thing since I NEED to get on with my fitness.Eating and eating and having a bad sleeping pattern is working its toll on my complexion.I rarely have pimples but now a few has popped up!ayeyayayay!!

Mamai

Bila usia semakin lanjut(ececeh macam dah tua sangat padahal baru 24 tahun),tenaga pun semaking berkurangan.Senang mengantuk,senang letih,lingkaran hitam di bawah mata pun semakin ketara.Adoi.

Al kisah hari ini...Semalam saya balik dari kerja pada pukul 11 malam.Dan pada hari ini masuk kerja pada pukul 7.30 pagi.Gila tak gila?

Tapi sebelum itu,pergi la beli breakfast dulu di restoran berdekatan rumah nenek saya--sebab balik lewat malam jadi tidur la rumah nenek sebab jalan raya ke rumah family=puncak alam,sangat scary pada waktu malam--tiada lampu & tiada pembahagi jalan!

Belilah nasi lemak,surat khabar The Star & 100 plus activ sebab ye lah,masih mamai2.

Pergila ke kereta pastuh tekan yang alarm kereta tuh.Eh,kenapa kereta ni tak menyala??0_o

Tekan berkali tak boleh jugak..hurm..bateri alarm ni mati kot?Ok cuba guna kunci kereta pulak.Masih tidak boleh jugak.Adois camne ni..Masuk kerja at 7.30 kot!

Tiba2 tengok kat cermin,eh..apsal cermin kereta ni mcm lain je...Kejap.

Day outtttt

What I did on Wednesday:

Went to my faculty to buy a book from my junior’s fund fair.They have to raise money for their final semester project,a seminar for professional development.A year ago when me & my colleagues did it,we ask donation from our parents.

Luckily some of us have wealthy ones & they drop a few thousands for it so we didn’t have to raise funds.But then again,we didn’t get to experience the excitement of getting together,brainstorming to come up with creative ways to earn money so I’m proud of my juniors!

After that,lunch & a movie with the boyf.Ate so much at Fullhouse—had the Wrap of Rome,Soft shell crab(deep fried crab—so good!),Aglio Oglio,Seafood platter(the salmon is yummahhh&so is the sauce!) & Creme Brulee for dessert(I still prefer zen’s cafe bigger portion for this dessert at the same price).

Watch Khurafat afterwards,my request of course.It was just not good!I’m sorry but seriously,the storyline has so many faults.The twist at the end was great but it didn’t save the whole movie.Buy the dvd instead if you guys plan to watch it in the cinema.


Bought a bunch of baking stuffs at Daisho.hehe.

Then we picked up Adela & went to visit Jezmine to give her the cookies I baked for her birthday. Bought a long black one shoulder lace maxi dress which my boyfriend adored me in it.ahaha.Of course it was a bit short on me since I’m a bit on the tall side.Though not as tall as my boyfriend!Which is good since I can rock high heels when I’m with him..hehe

Ate at Tutti Frutti & they have a new flavour which is Red Velvet( a cake which I’ve baked before)& although it was good,it reminded me of choc pudding.Oooh,the combination of flavours & toppings that we ate cost my boyf rm33.40..yikesss!But since it was eaten by 3 ppl,it was okay right?:P

Then we bought homemade burger at sect 7,this time I tried the BBQ patty since previously I had the mushroom one.Send Adela back to college & then I went to the boyf’s hse..Chatted a bit with his family,& then watched the latest ep of The Big Bang Theory & ate our burger.Went home,watch more Parenthood & finish watching I Love You Phillip Morris—which I will review soon & is very brilliant!
