Dinner at The Gastro Project

On Wednesday night last week, before our movie(previous post),the boyfriend and I had dinner at The Gastro Project.I've been meaning to dine there before because I've heard good things about it but never had the chance to.

We ordered an appetizer, two mains and a dessert to share. Not all of the dishes were good though. But some were amazing!

We started our dinner with their cheesy potato skins..The salsa that comes with it was super tasty..even the boyfriend commented on it.However, our potato skins wasn't crispy :(  But the insides were really good!
I ordered the pumpkin ravioli as my main course and it was AMAZING!The tomato sauce that comes with it was so damn good. The boyfriend kept taking spoonfuls. We shared this dish as well.If I come back here one day,I would definitely reorder this. It's comforting(the smooth pumpkin filling inside the ravioli) and so flavorful.

The boyfriend who loves lamb, ordered the Moroccan Pizza. To me this was just okay.D'Italiane's pizza was way better.I thought that the pizza crust was so-so and also the pine nuts wasn't crunchy..which was a little bit weird.
We ordered the sticky toffee pudding as dessert and it was so good. The combination of the caramel sauce, the pudding and the ice cream was PERFECTION!Definitely a must order as well.

Overall The Gastro Project is a great place to dine at.Though the parking is a bit difficult. We also used Waze to reach the place(just type The Gastro Project).I would come back one day just for the amazing pumpkin ravioli and the sticky toffee pudding.

Mani pedi & dinner at D'Italiane with Qeema

Despite almost being 27 years old this year..I've never gotten myself a proper manicure.I usually buff my nails myself using those nail buffers.2 weeks ago, after work I meet up with Qeema in Damansara near her work place to go and do our manicure and pedicure together.I bought a Groupon voucher which enables us to get a manicure/pedicure/foot spa & a hand paraffin treatment for just rm 38 at Roseanne Beauty Salon. What a steal!
My sleepy face haha
So how was the place and service?Again, this is not a sponsored post..haha The place was clean and the service was very good.So good that I had two people attending me at one time. One was doing foot spa on both of my feet while the other was doing my nails.I almost felt asleep through it haha.

Qeema was laughing when they were using the foot file to get rid of the calluses on our feet..because it was very ticklish!Oh,the hand paraffin thing was super hot.I've done it once years back and couldn't remember how it felt. But boy was it painful!
It was so hard to choose!
The hardest part was choosing what colors to wear on our nails. All of the colors are from OPI.Qeema and I choose different colors for our fingernails and toenails.I choose a sparkly nude on my fingers(so that it's not too loud for work) and a super glittery gold for my toenails(it's been 2 weeks but it's still on my toenails..with no chip whatsoever!) since I always wear covered shoes for work.

The funny name of our
nail polish(top:mine,bottom:qeema)

As usual,OPI's nailpolish always have funny names.I looked at the bottom of the bottles to see the names of the one that we chose...My nude one was named "Hands of my Kielbasa!" and the gold one was "OY-Another Polish Joke!"..hahah ookayyyy.
Qeema in her work clothes!
I was impressed by how impeccable they did my nails. If I did it myself,it would always be super messy and I've to use lots of nail polish remover to fix it.haha The manicurist didn't make any mistakes at all!
My pretty nude polish!
Afterwards,we were given a cup of tea. Then we left for dinner!I loved how the spa didn't pester us to take any packages at all..they just bid us goodbye..phewww haha
Pretty pot of tea
We choose D'Italiane for dinner and decided to share an appetizer and main course as we know that their portions are pretty huge.It was my second time having dinner there and I've to say their quality of food is just excellent!

We started our dinner with a tiger prawn and avocado salad.Which came with toasted pine nuts which added a little bit of crunch. The dressing was tasty and light too.We finished it pretty quickly.I loved their presentation as well.Because it was made into a heart shaped salad!:P
Cheese!!
We ordered the smoked duck pizza and glad that we did(their menu is extensive so we had a long time to decide on what to order haha). It WAS SO DAMN GOOD!I love duck and so does Qeema..but it's rare to find it on a menu. And this was just excellent.Who would have known that smoked duck on pizza would taste so good? But it did!We managed to save four slices for Razin to eat(he was at home..haha) because he was the one who turned me and Qeema into eating duck. And he said it was really good.
So gooood!
The pizza crust was just perfect and so was the sauce.I would order that again for sure!We ordered coffees after dinner but unfortunately the pictures were terrible haha..Qeema ordered cappuccino and I ordered their chocolate orange something..haha They even added orange zest on top of the whipped cream. It was so good!D'Italiane is definitely one of the top places that I'd recommend.:)
So many eye and face masks
After dinner,Qeema and I wondered to Mask Slim and we bought a few masks.I've seen on Ingrid's Youtube channel on how My Beauty Diary's eyemasks are good.So I bought a box of it.Then we went to Sasa and suddenly I saw their rm10 for 4 masks deal.Damn!I just spend like..rm50 something on masks just now haha But I bought some from Sasa.Hence the picture above..haha.

More blog posts coming soon!Have a nice weekend people :)

The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy
On Wednesday night I went to watch The Amazing Spider-Man 2 at One Utama with the boyfriend.I love the movie!I love the first one and this one too.Though I've to admit that there was some superrrr cheesy lines between Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy.haha.Don't get me wrong..Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone is one of my favorite Hollywood couple. They're so adorable.Remember this picture of them ages ago?

There were some parts of the movie where I wonder if Emma Stone realize what she was saying because it was just too pukey at times. But she's very very pretty in this movie!Love her whole look.Though she looks too thin nowadays.:(

Peter Parker/Spiderman is still hilarious/being a smart-ass a lot of the time.Sometimes it was a bit annoying when he's all cocky as he go and get the bad guys. But he's Spiderman!
Look out for this adorable lil guy in the movie!
The movie basically is about how Peter finally gets to know the truth about why his parents supposedly 'ditch' him,how his former bestfriend Harry Osborn has to deal with being the one in charge of his father's company after his death and also how Gwen is moving on with her life after highschool with..or without Peter?hmmmm..You have to watch the movie to find out!
Peter and Harry
I thought that Jamie Foxx was great as Electro.A part of me felt sorry for him..though he did become a monster!Oooh,I also love the songs that they used in the movie. For example, the scene when Electro was at Times Square??The song playing in the background suited his emotions very well.
Electro!
Also,it was so random when Peter was lying in bed,he was listening to a Phillip Phillips song.ahaha

Lastly,if you read the Spiderman comic books then you'd know that there's no happy ending in this movie.I'm sorry to burst your bubble! It made me teary eyed for sure.To me the movie was a good watch.I was actually sleepy before I went to watch the movie but I didn't slept at all throughout the whole thing.haha.

I give the movie 4 out of 5.Andrew Garfield's smile alone is worth 3 stars.hahahaha

Tea time at TWG

So many teas!
Two Saturday's ago...Razin and I went to TWG(which stands for The Wellness Group) Tea at Sunway Pyramid for some tea and desserts.I've been meaning to go to TWG for so long but never got to since their previous outlets was quite far from Shah Alam.Plus my boyfriend is pretty much a homebody and he doesn't like going to places that is too far.haha

Having a tough time deciding what tea to choose!
When we arrived there it was less than 5 minutes to 6pm.When I asked the front of the house guy if the high tea set is still available..he said no :( I was sad because that's what I really wanted. He asked me to take a look at the menu..we did but then I asked again if we really can't order the high tea set?Suddenly,a guy came out and he said they can make one last high tea set!!I guess he's the manager :) I was really happy!
Shiny teapot--it's rm1499(they sell it!).

Focused!
Such lovely teas

Smelling the tea leaves
There were so many teas available at TWG.It was pages and pages long.We had the Tea Time Fortune set.I chose the Croque Imperial sandwich(Warm toasted sandwich with Gruyère cheese and smoked salmon)and scones(came with whipped cream and tea jelly). It also came with three choices of macarons.I choose the Bain De Roses tea,Earl Grey Fortune& chocolate and Camelot tea&Praline.

First we chose the Midnight Hour tea with our tea time set after getting the recommendation from our server Shann who was very knowledgeable on teas and so very helpful.I googled the description of the tea and I got this "a magical infusion of decaffeinated black tea delicately blended with fragrant tropical fruits".No wonder the name is Midnight Hour!:P
The croque imperial which was so goooddd!

The tea time set comes with a pot of tea and that amounts to about two cups of tea.So we ordered another teapot after we finish eating our sandwiches and scones. The sandwich was yummy and very more-ish.The scones were fluffy and I loved how they served it with tea jelly instead of the normal strawberry jam.
Fluffy scones(served with cream and tea jelly)

The macarons were one of the best I've tasted and I've tasted quite a few macarons! My favorite were the Bain De Roses macaron. It was so good!
Such yummy macarons

For the second pot of tea, the server suggested red teas and gave us three teas to smell and choose from.I don't remember what the other two was..but the boyfriend choose Red Christmas for us to drink.According to TWG,the Red Christmas tea is.."For those cosy holiday evenings, this TWG Tea theine-free red rooibos is a festival of flavours and spices, to reminisce and celebrate all year long."

Our server Shann was very accommodating that he even put the two teas in their canister and arrange the teapot next to it so that I could take the picture below.hahaha He was very nice!

The tea that we selected from the
recommendation of our server

It's suffice to say that TWG is THE place for tea lovers like me.You'll be spoiled by the choices of teas that's available.I would definitely come back again to TWG for another tea time treat!Excellent food, teas and service.:)
